Well, I've been 100% RAW for five days now and I'm feeling soooo good - just wanted to share :D
But what really bugs me is my blender - it basically just sucks, and it seems like a good blender is a must-have when eating raw, so I'd appreciate if you'd care to share your experiences with different brands/best places to purchase one...Love alba :)

It all depends on what your price range is. I love my Vitamix.. others prefer the Ktec out of the expensive blenders. The seem to be the two most prefered blenders out of the high end ones. If your looking for a more afordable blender then check the different brands and see what the power of the blender is and also check to see if the motor is all metal or not. Osterizer has at least one type that has an all metal motor. The one I used to have worked well on making smoothies with frozen bananas.. I never tried anything else with it though.

I love my Vitamix too. I used to have a regular blender but I would have to pour a little bit by little bit to get everything processed. Now, I just dump everything in and it turns out great. I have the one that you can variable speeds.

I got mine off ebay for about 5 months now and I love it. :)

the 4500 is perfect for in home use....the 5000 in my opinion is not necessary...those are the ones used at Jamba Juice and Coffee Bean...like commercial use...where they are used all day long...

And I really love it. I was agonizing over the vitamix and k-tec and went with the latter because I got it for a great price. Also, it fits under my counter. Anyway, it's killer on smoothies. I haven't done much else in it. When the weather gets cooler I'm looking forward to some raw soups. Will they heat up a bit?
Thanks

I love my Vita mix, too.

They have been around a long, long, time and the company seems to be very friendly and professional when dealing with their customers.

It makes frozen fruit smoothies in a minute, whereas the cheaper ones take alot longer and seems to be harder on the motor.

Cheers!
