I know I shouldn't weigh myself after a pretty big meal (all raw) but I wanted to see the effect and I'm 3 lbs heavier than when I woke up today. I hope it will go down in the morning.
I went to a totally raw restaurant for lunch and it was so wonderful! I had an entree (raw bombay samosa) half a dessert (OMG - so Amazing brownie) and then a big smoothie tonight with A LOT of fruit. But 3 lbs??? I don't usually have so much in one day, but shouldn't I be able to indulge once in a while without gaining any weight? I don't feel overly stuffed the way I did on cooked, though. I feel pretty good.
Peace,
Stiletto

it's totally normal.
You have this food and drink in your system, and it is doing the digestion thing, but it's not permanent. I've gained 5 pounds in a day before, that's when I stopped weighing myself at night LOL
See what the scale says tomorrow morning, just for reference.

You weigh more at night than in the morning.
I weigh more in the evening even if I've eaten like nothing for the day.

Heh! I can gain or lose 10 pounds in a day, easily. When I was pregnant, I gained 12 pounds overnight, then lost that and another 12 by two weeks later. Dr. was not at all pleased with me! That's when they discovered I had a thyroid problem that was bouncing from hyper to hypo. It was nothing I was doing at all. Just my thyroid revolting. I also tend to retain water. That puts on weight.

It's normal. Now this is NOT normal: before i figured out I had food allergies and sensativities even with a BITE of something with wheat or corn I'd gain 10 pounds over night (4 pant sizes of edema everywhere). Usually I lose weight at night....not with those foods!

My fingers are feeling a little puffy too, so I must have had something with some sodium. That always makes me retain water.
Wow, dreamrawalwz, I can't believe that about the corn and wheat. I don't think I have an allergy, but when I was eating veg cooked, I ate a lot of popcorn and the weight always creeps up on me then.
Thanks for the replies.
