How would you get them? I am asking this question cause umm, well I have seen woman with really gross looking (to ME) abs, they are so buffed that they even stick out! I mean there stomach's!

So, I am trying to NOT get this type of abs, but get really defined abs, that are not lumpy or manly. How do go about this?

To get "man abs", would you have to be doing way to many ab exercises?

I wouldn't think Pilates would make weird abs. But cruches could? Maybe? (Unsure okay!?!?)

Well, when I was in the Reserves, I was doing upwards of 100 sit-ups and 200 crunches a day, and still had a bit of pooch... I guess it depends on your body type !

Hmm. I'm also talking about not getting square abs, if you know what I mean? Where your body is just straght all the way down, and your abs don't curve in on the sides.

I think it really depends on your body type. Some people are more muscular than others and some have more of a waist than others.

I've always had really large pertruding abs, probably "man abs" and they only go away for the day if I'm full of water or watermelon. I am really muscular allover, though...I think if you don't have a naturally muscular build, you won't have a problem with getting "man abs"

It depends on a person's body I think. I naturally have a slightly protruding abdomen, even though I can see my abs...I don't really think they will go away...maybe though (can you have fat behind muscle or is it probably my organs???)

It’s just organs. having abs like that all depends of genetics and how much testosterone you have in your body... the more testosterone you have in your body the more muscle you'll gain.

Okay, so that hard thing (that is not fat) is organs? I have always wondered what that is! Some people have really flat stomachs though, I'm not meaning so little fat, but it is just flat as well.

the definition and hardness is muscle bellies & all the tissue ligaments and all that structure. The organs are deeper in the abdoman protected by essential body fat. That is a must, essential body fat...keeps us alive. :)

To get the "man abs" you have to have the genetics and or use heavy weights on the ab exercises.

I have seen some women who Bodybuild who have them at higher bodyfat levels while others like myself see them pop out only during the competition season and body fat is low at 6-9 %.

Many women who Bodybuild get them by using AS (opps that Anabolic Steroids..)...but again not all some are genetic.

Thank you! Does it hurt your body when you go up and down on body fat? And do you gain and loose weight?

Hello again!

I have been noticing (now this is just my opinion) that my abs are starting to look bloated! I may be doing to many ab exercises, that I don't know. The thing is, I want to get my abs more defined and sucked in, not bloated out! I don't have hardly any fat, so why is this doing this? Even when I suck in I still "think" they look bloated!

Thank you for your help!
