View Full Version : Pleasant surprise, I think due to going raw...

Well, a few months ago, before my life got crazy :D I was trying to lose 15 pounds and managed to get down from 138 to 128. Then my parents came and I was traveling and moving a lot and eating horribly (this was all before I went raw) and I know I gained most of that back (though I didn't weigh myself). So I didn't weigh myself before I went raw because I didn't want to get discouraged with my weight. This morning, after 3 days of raw, I weighed myself and I found I'm 130 - so I don't know how much I lost with these days of going raw, but I know it made the weight gain much less than it would have been had I weighed in before I started raw.

I didn't go raw with the goal to lose weight, although I knew if I kept to plenty of veggies and fruit and moderate fats and protein I would eventually probably get to my goal weight, but it's nice to see that I'm not gaining weight, as this was one of my fears with going raw (since I've heard some people do gain on raw, if they go overboard with the fats).

And I'm happy to report that the detox symptoms seem to have waned considerably and I actually am starting to feel the benefits. I did have another headache when I woke up this morning but that might be because I left the air conditioning on all night (I have one of those window units in the livingroom so it's not directly on me) and sometimes when I do that I wind up with a headache. So I can't say I'm totally out of detox but I'm definately feeling much much better.

Wooo congats!!

My detox (the REALLY bad part of it) only lasted six days, but I will get little ones every once in a while. I also noticed losing weight... 10lbs! I am 120 now. My goal was not to lose weight, but it is a pleasant bonus. That, and not being so darn hot these summer days! I can't believe how much eating raw cools you down!
Methinks lots of hot herbal tea is in store this winter...

Good on you! Keep up the great work!
