Hello Raw fooders! This is my second 14-day fast, & I have 2 more days to go! I'm so proud!
The bad breath isn't very appealing esp. when one has to talk to people. I usually feel embarassed most of the time! Yet, I must detox, & they must suffer!
I'm just wondering if anyone is water fasting too right now.

I just ended fast/cleanse I did the master cleanse for a week then a week on just water. It was great. I have fasted many times before so it's very easy now.
I am now eating 100% raw it's been a week. I feel like I am still detoxing. I have acne ... one big pimple on my chin :( today my stool smelled. And my hair is falling out.
The reason I fast and cleane is because I grew up in a very toxic enviorment. My family owns a machine factory. Only the lord knows what I have been exposed to.
Last year a black widow bit me and I had to go to the hospital. They did a spinal tap and discovered I had white blood cells in the fluid. You are not supposed to have any white blood cells in your spinal fluid. This isn't good at all.
I have a doc but I refuse any treatment at this point. I know my body will and can heal itself if I make the right food choices and fast.
Congraulations on your fast. How are things going for you?

Wow! That's amazing. I've tried to do water fasts, and most of the time I'm ok on my days off, when I can relax; but when I have to work, or go out and accomplish stuff that's it, it's over! I just get so weak feeling. Good for you!

THANK YOU! :o
Everything A-okay so far, but my breath really stinks! It's BAD! I MAY break the fast today, if I can find some watermelon or cantaloupe on sale. I cannot do this stinky breath thing anymore, b/c so many people come up close to talk to me. :(
Water-fasting isn't really all that hard really. It's weird. I never thought I'd be able to do it myself but here I am on my second one. If I didn't have to constantly be around people, I wouldn't be surprised to hit 30 days.
What I've learned so far! I'm speculating that when the books and people say to rest & drink enough water, do it! I found that I lost much more weight, & I can last a lot longer fasting. Some people want to do some light exercises to hasten weight loss, but from my own experience, it actually hinders it! Then again, maybe it's b/c I was too toxic the first time I fasted.
I have a lot of training to do which involved running(a specific time) & strength training. So after this, I'm going to up my calories to off-set the vigorous activities. Currently, I'm reading through all the posts of those doing vigorous training & what they eat to keep up the stamina. :D

A few questons!
I always keep trying to fast, but it never works. I can make it to 24 hours, ut that's it. Any suggestions? It's the chewing thing that gets me. The hunger feeling is fine to me. Also I use food as an emotinoal tool so taking that away brings up hard issues. Any advice to get to day 3?
What changes have you seen so far or are you looking to change?

My first fast was very difficult but I did it with a friend and that seemed to really help. After day 3 or 4 the hunger goes away. Then each time you fast it gets easier. Maybe you want to try the master cleanse first and work your way into just water. When I do the master cleanse I use fiber and clay 4 times a day that also seems to take away hunger pains, the lemonade takes away the dizzy feeling
The changes well .... from a size 12 to a 4 through about 6 fast over a few years. My eyes are clear, little to no body odor, my skin feels like silk and my blood work has shown amazing results. Lower cholesterol, lower BP, a slight change in my high white blood cell count ... lower count. No sinsus problems and emotionally I feel balanced and my cycles are getting easier and less. I also have been told I look many years younger then 42.
I can't wait to see what being raw will do for my body. It's only been a week raw I'll let you know in a month if there is a difference

Hi Neighbor!
Everyone has their own moment that tips them over to fasting which makes it successful. For me, I was just frustrated & wasn't feeling well anyway! So I decided I had nothing to lose. The first time I fasted for 14 days was easy, b/c I felt really really bad! Feeling that bad didn't make me hungry! I just wanted to sleep. I'm not sure what to advise you honestly.
I read that you wanted to go on a fasting retreat? Maybe that will help. Everyone is so different. Some people can fast w/o ever having to go on a retreat, & some will have to go for support from others, & you won't have access to food. :p
If you want to save some money(poor college student here), why not go camping somewhere safe on your own w/ just your water instead of going on a retreat? 14 days is pretty safe. Yet, if you're concerned something may happen, try 7 days first. I agree w/ the above poster, the more you do it, the easier it gets! Ask your family to call you everyday to see how you're doing! Just take the water, & enjoy nature for 14 days. Take some books.
A more drastic approach, have your family lock you up in your room! :D Just have water. Have them ask if you're ok everyday, & let you out in 14 days. That would work, too. :p
I wish I had some money/time to go camping w/ you. I can def. use the vacation! :o Oh yeah, plus, I already fasted. :( :o

I have never water fasted although some day i hope I'll get there. The transition to a raw diet and incorporating fasting has taken me 15 years. That's when I became veg, then vegan 5 years later, backto veg during pregnancies,a nd 1 1/2 years high raw, 8 months raw with minor setbacks. In May I completed a seven day juice fast and am currently on day three of a six day juice fast to be followed next month by another. I am only telling you this because maybe it would help you with a steady transition. Dick Gregory recommends in his book DG's Natural Diet for Folks Who Eat: Cookin' with Mother Nature to enter a fast by comsuming raw fruits and veggies for 2-3 days, followed by two days of juice, one day of water, two days of juice, then fruit again.. I know some folks may be able to plunge into fasting and the raw food diet, but I could not. Also I found Pamela Serure's book 3 Day Energy Fast really helpful. It's also a juice fast and she gets you through those first three most diffcult days...
Hope this helps!
