I've searched and searched and can't find the recipe I used before, but here's part and I think you could figure out the rest.

You can use potatoes or jicama. Slice thinly. If you use potatoes, soak over night in water with juice of one lemon.

Here's the BBQ spices: Dip potato/jicama into spices well and dehydrate till crispy. I do not know how many potatoes these spices will cover. Here's an organic brand:

BBQ Seasoning for Chips

1/4 cup tomato powder (or powdered tomato soup mix)
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/8 tsp garlic powder
Pinch of mustard powder
Pinch of turmeric
Pinch of cayenne
Pinch of sweetener

Mix all ingredients well.
Store in shaker jar.

Crisps will keep a couple of weeks in a cookie jar.

Okay, Wendy, I'm not understanding the "tomato powder". What is that? Is instant tomato soup mix raw?

Also, I haven't found any onion or garlic powder that hasn't been heat processed. Where do you get yours?

I'd love to try this.

Thanks.

I haven't tried this yet. Tomato powder is dehydrated tomatoes ground up, I think. I have done the jicama before and was unsatisfied with the flavorings, so I went on a site and asked the cook there (it's a vegetarian site) to come up with a BBQ flavor.

Hi,

I make all of my own seasonings, it is organic, raw, and cheap.

tomato, onion, and garlic powder are those fruits/veggies dehydrated and then ground up.

They are good, as long as they have flavor. If you want to keep them even longer put them in the freezer after dehydrating and grinding.

I put mine in double freezer bags in the freezer, they keep a long time there.

Red bell pepper powder is really a wonderful change from salt on the table, just to let you know.

yes~ that is a GREAT idea, because I always wonder about the onion powder from the store, it makes me suspicious.
Thanks rawpriestess ;)
