Ok, knowing all that I know through raw and nutition it made me laugh when I read the articles in this magazine. It's also upsetting that they're using this to get to people with wrong information:

Not sure how much this is off or not, but there's an article that says that strething before exercise doesn't affect injury at all. I guess waht I'm basing it against is that I feel looser and stuff after I stretch and it's easier to exercise.

Here are the good ones (sarcastic here):
"Aspartame Doesn't Cause Cancer"
"Weight Gain Almost Inevitable with Againg."
"Active Monkey's Stay Lean No Matter What They Eat"
"Low-carb, High Protein Diets"
"Breast Implants Don't Increase the Rist of Breast Cancer"
"Fit and Fat"
"Eggs are Heart Healthy"

I dunno, maybe it's just me that thinks these are a tad outrageous? Maybe outrageous is the wrog word, but just...not right?

There are also ones that are good (in reality):
"Chicken Contains Arsenic"
"Mediterranean Diet Reduces Alzheimer's Risk"
"Tap Water Linked to Cancer" hmm, I guess for city water with all those chemicals I believe it, but not well water.
"Low-carb, High-fat Diet Good for Parkinson's Disease"
"Potato Eaters Have Increased Risk of Type 2 Diabetes"
"Botox is the Best According to New Study"

Then there are others about certain suppliments improving breast cancer survival rates, congestive heart failure, fractures, ect....can't you get them in raw food instead of suppliments? Yea yea, I know, not everyone is going to "sacrafice" their "good" cooked food for raw stuff.

Another one has me thinking..."Vitamin C Improves Fat Metabolism." Is this like the "drink 24oz of milk to get slimmer" thing? I have A LOT of vitamin C, but I'm not getting any smaller lol.

So what do you think? I hope I'm not out of line here or offend anyone.

how about all the drugs that the side effects are worse than the symtoms

Ive actually thought about wearing shirts with the drug name, its claimed benefit for specific ailment and the listed side effects

then in CAPS "ARE WE REALLY THIS STUPID?"

Glad you have the eyes to see and the mind to discern.

Dreamer....
I don't think you were being sarcastic by saying the lower list was good (in reality). I agree with the first few, but disagree with :
"Low-carb, High-fat Diet Good for Parkinson's Disease"

"Botox is the Best According to New Study"

I think a basic raw diet, with as many carbs as needed by an individual will be good for Parkinson's Disease. NOT anything like Atkins, or even a vegetarian style low carb diet.

Botox: It is a food-born illness.. Botulinium Toxin A. Why do people inject themselves with foodborn illnesses that we try so hard to avoid putting into our mouths?

:D I'm glad that i don't believe everything i read because most of it comes from the mind of the writer.
When you know better you do better but if you don't know you'll believe anything as long as it's in print. :) :)

I don't get how they can have articles about walking off 6 pounds in a week or some other plan, and recipes for these awful bad for you desserts! Do the editors fail to see the lack of continuity? How can a person really hope to make a "healthy" change by simultaneously reading about exercise and 6 layer chocolate cake? The temptation is ever present.
I would LOVE to see a raw mag. i was never one to buy mags in part b/c I did not feel like paying for the ads that take up at least half the mag. But I would buy a raw mag partly for the ads, as a resource for whats out there.

just saw a link for Living Nutrition mag, anyone read this? I wonder if its available locally.

I feel the same when I'm in a shopping centre and there's a gym and then Dairy Queen or another ice cream place RIGHT NEXT DOOR.

I would LOVE to start a raw magazine personally, but not sure how to do it (even if it's just for my family).

Isn't it incredible that any kind of publication can just write something like "Milk builds strong bones" and "fish lowers cholesterol" and somehow get across to millions that its some kind of fact.

I'm thankful for books like The China Study and doctors like Dr. McDougall and Dr. Graham who dispells that kind of stuff.

Exactly. I'm going on various vegan health websites and they're telling the truth. Now how to get this truth out to the public? My parents don't believe what I say because it's online and not what they've grown up wtih! I just don't understand how blatent lies are ALLOWED like this to the public.
