I'll start the ball rolling with mine.
Throat tightness on the sides to the point where i thought i was going to pass out so off to the ER again. After blood tests, heart monitoring and chest and throat exrays they found nothing wrong again.
This is my second trip to the ER and first to the clinic, no we are not rich and will be paying for this a long time but it's good to know that there was nothing wrong.
Does anyone else have detox symptoms that have led to emergency care?
It can be very strange living through these.
Feeling better now.

No I have not experienced this yet. However I have been wondering if anybody has accumulated a body of knowledge regarding detox symptoms and what they generally mean and possibly learning what foods (or anything) we can use or not use to ease the suffering or help cure a medical problem.

blessed, have you ever had any throat injuries or thyroid problems or any other past problems or injuries that may be related to the areas you're experiencing trouble? Did you have your tonsils removed? Because I know some others have experienced detox in areas that they "thought" had been healed in the past, and came up again through detox to do further healing and heal completely. At least that was the consensus that made sense.

I was told when I started raw that I should write down all the problems that I have had in my life and my body will work back through them.
I have experienced this and have felt slight symptoms of ailments that I have had in the past.
About 3 days ago I woke to find a ring of bumps and marks around my left eye. I am aware that I was hospitalised at about 4 with acid burns to my face and can not wait to see if my mother recalls exactly where they were.

:) I took a laxative on yesterday thinking toxins may have flowed into that area of my body and it did seem to help slightly.
I've been learning to listen closely to what my body is saying, i'm finding that even with all the problems eating a S.A.D. has caused my body can be very forgiving and will let me know how it's feeling.
I've read in the past that toxins will flow to a injured part of the body, i have not injured my throat in anyway but when i damaged my legs, well the veins in my legs that could have some connection. The body is amazing and wonderous.
But i do feel some better thanks.

Being one with food allergies this worries me a little. Are you sure it's detox? It could be an allergic reaction...make sure if it happens again you write down what you've eaten before hand.

Like Dreamrawltz, I wonder if it is an allrgic reaction. Another thought I had was if it were your carotid arteries, it sure would be a good idea to have them checked out too.

blessed, I'm right there with ya :D. I'm on day 3 of raw foods and the first two days were pretty horrible. I haven't experienced anything that took me to the ER (thank goodness because I'm a grad student who cannot afford summer health insurance!) but I'm very suseptable to headaches and migraines and for three days I've developed one or the other on each day. Day 1 I managed to hold off from taking asprin (didn't want to interfere with the cleansing of the raw foods diet) but yesterday was a migraine so I took an Excendrine Migraine which wiped it right out (but I'm assuming that's because my body was "clean") The first day I had flu-like symptoms, feeling weak and my whole body ached. Yesterday it was a lot better and today better still, so I think my body is starting ot get used to it.

My mistake was thinking that because I was eating a healthy vegan diet until two months ago that I would experience minimum detox if at all. Shows you how bad even a cooked vegan diet can be.

What might be helping me is that I'm not doing a 100% raw diet (though I hope to eventually work up to it) I'm at about 85% raw, still eating some canned beans, mainly for the protein.

I'd like to cal the effects of RAW that I have experienced: Homeostatic GRATITUDE

It's as if everything that is happening is finally taking my body and mind to a place of balance

My sensualness has heightened especially after eating melons

My iritability has diminished

Mental acuity, getting sharper every day

Senses are improving

toenail beds appear brighter
Joint pain GONE

The only "ill" effect which I really like to term as a "signal", is that when I'm getting hungry I start to fade. I become distracted and a bit distant in conversation.

:) I feel like i'm being reborn in a way, a better person in mind and body.
Some days i can't wait to wake up to see what else has happened to me during the night.
At this point i sleep better and wake up fresher.
I'm easier to live with my husband says.
My hair is growing and seems to have more body than when i was eating the S.A.D.
I have more energy it seems.
I'm enjoy this journey.
Take care Life.
