View Full Version : Raweos!
Has anyone tried these? These are the best raw desserts I've tried -- chewey and cake-like. Has anyone tried to duplicate these scumptious things? I've made lots and lots of raw desserts, but never had anything that has this perfect, chewy texture.
Thanks.
thats funny because I tried them and disliked them, yet I continued to eat them, and got sick :(

I've tried them too but didn't really like them, a bit too heavy and filling for me I guess and something about the flavor that didn't agree with me.
But maybe with the list of ingredients you could make a "look a like" version, I can't remember what was in them but it would be fun to try making some!

I tried them and loved them! Very addictive. I wish I can make them because they are so expensive.

I love raweos. I used to buy them from EatRaw but they don't sell them anymore. I found them in the Diamond Organic catalog and read the ingredients and saw that they put "toasted" carob in them. :( I would read the package just to make sure.

I'm pretty sure eat raw still has raweos...I just got their catalog. They have these new things called "Cinnamon Glaze" that are awesome. I tried to copy them but my version is not as good. They are thin cinnamon cookies with a glaze on top, very good. Stuff is expensive from Eat Raw but I get great ideas for trying to copy things. The Sea Chips are really good too...
sesame seeds w/ dulce, agave, a bit of nama shoyu...it's got a really good sweet/salty type flavor.
Sorry, I hijacked the raweos thread!
Ooh, those chips sound good. GTW, our local Whole Foods carries Raweos, if this helps anyone.
Does anyone have a package of the original Raweos around? I'm going to try to duplicate it, but since I already snarfled the ones I have on hand, and threw away the package, I don't have the ingredients. I'm kind of thinking the cookie was made from nuts, dates, and coconut. Oh, and carob. I just can't figure out how they got such a nice texture -- nothing like any other raw dessert I've made.

Thanks to this thread, I had a huge insatiable craving for a Raweo cookie and had to drive to my natural foods store and get one... Mmmmmm :D
