I wasn't sure if it HAD to be refrigerated or not.

No, just store it in a cool dark place like a cabinet.

They do also reccomend keeping it in a dark glass bottle.

Great, that is just what I thought. I remember years ago I put some in the fridge and it thickened so much that I couldn't use it without letting it sit out and come to room temperature.

I never have and it's been fine. I've been using R-EVO for years now and have never had a problem w/it. Someone else may have another opinion however. I also have found that oils, when I used to use another kind would thicken up. Plus, I use mine up before it would go bad...
