I did a 5 day fast. Just juices....simple......one juice at a time. The first day or so was a little hard but after that I didn't want to stop. I purposely set the 5th day for when we were going out. I really enjoyed it. I felt free....I wasn't setting my life around eating and food.
That's my only experience. Not much but I hope it helps a little. I'm thinking of doing one starting Tuesday.
Hi NWgal,
I started my 30 day challenge with a 7 day juice fast. Here's how I did it:
Each morning, after I got up I drank a big glass of room temperature water. I tried to wait till after 11:00am to start my juicing because the body is still in detox mode and I didn't want to interfere with that. The reason for the water was to help in flushing the toxins out that build up in the kidneys during sleep. Around 11 I would juice about 10 oz. of carrot and throughout the rest of the day I would drink differant combinations of the following:
Carrot, apple, beet & beet greens, celery, cucumber, parsley, spinach, sweet potatoe, watermelon plus the rind, cantaloupe.
Hunger disappers about the third day but will reappear if you don't strain the pulp out of your juices well.
Hope I was of help to you.....kirk

Oh darn - the actually book used to be online but it seems to have disappeared. So I don't have that link. They talk a lot about it at Cure Zone.

I did a 3 week juice fast that was MAGICAL. I felt totally released from the anxieties of food. It was amazing. The feeling of lightness and clarity was wonderful. I plan to do a long one like that once a year, and I'd like to do shorter ones a couple times a year.

Hmm I have read some where Bragg fasted once a week I think most of his life.
I'm thinking of doing a 7 day juice fast once a month from now on. I'm shooting for a 120 year lifespan:)

Surely we're good for more than 120! You think?
Kathy :D
:) I once read an interview with a woman of the Hunza people. The interviewer asked how old she was and she told him she lost count at 120. During the interview she directed him to walk up the mountain and talk to her son (who was hoeing potatoes in a field), she told the interviewer "He's a hundred and ten". Yep, quality as well and quantity, thats what I want. Course all the males in my family tree never got past 82 but they weren't eating raw and living foods either. I can do better than that.:)
