Hello everyone, I am fairly new to the raw food uncooking and learning to change my mind so I can change the rest, so I can be my best.
My journey began by getting a Dehydrator- 9 tray Excalibur and a Vita mix a year ago. But really my intentions were just to eat differently and did not know much about raw till 6 months later I was looking at cookbooks at Borders for jerky to make for my meat eating husband. That is when I stumbled on Nomi's Raw food book and then another, and I began to find for myself that I would like to dabble in it. I started to cut things out that were already addictive to me....refined sugar and soda pop. I have been very successful. I have not drank any coke or any other sodas in nearly 2 months, and have not touched refined sugar in same time. Dairy has been cut out for a week. Fresh Coconut has become my substitute.
The more I challenge and succeed the easier it gets to cut out the junk for good. Also the more I read and research about dairy the more I don't want it. Seems the dairy industry has branded more then just the bovine....society has been tagged and now its being milked for money, and obesity is the reward. Short of it- Cows forced to be pregnated for milk and the young calf is sold for veal- I don't want to be part of it anymore. Guess knowledge is power after all.
