Can anyone tell me how to make almond milk from almond butter? I borrowed Carol Alt's book from the library but had to return it.
Thanks!

I finally got my Raw Food Real World, and it IS really something! Thanks to those who so highly recommended it.
Here is their 30-Second Nut Milk;
2 heaping Tbs; raw almond or cashew butter or an other raw nut butter
2 cups filtered water
Pinch of sea salt
2 Tbsp agave nectar or 1 packet stevia
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 Tbsp coconut butter (optional)
In a blender, puree until smooth.
You could likely use a couple of dates for the sweetening if you wanted to substitute.
*If you really want to go plain (and quick), I would say just use the nut butter and water.
Or, do like I do. I use cashews to make milk for my DH's cereal. I use 1/2 cup of cashews to 2 cups water. Finito. That makes a really plain creamy textured milk. I do it in the power blender and it doesn't even need straining. I did strain it at first and came up with basically nothing, so I don't bother anymore. It is so emulsified that it is just a nice creamy texture. If I want to go a little fancier, I might add a drop of vanilla and even a pinch of salt, but I really see no need. Cashews don't even need sweetening IMO as they are already a little sweet.
Actually with nut butters you will even get a little grit.
(I even got approval from a coffee drinker who used my cashew milk.)
