cookies turned out like granola!?! Help!!

Hi,
I tried Julianno's apple raisin cookie recipe and it turned out like granola. (Delicious granola.) It was impossible to form into cookie shapes until I added a little water.
Any advice?
Has anyone made this successfully?

I loved those cookies when I made them. I didn't use the cashews, and just formed the cookies with my hands as tight as I could. They are great as is or dehydrated for a day or two. :D

Thanks for the advice. I've always been one to follow recipes to the T, but am getting away from that since I've been raw.

Any of your favorite cookie recipes and/or the book they are from would be so appreciated!!
