Strawberry Soup with Cashew Creme - great way to beat the heat
4 cups strawberries (1/2 frozen for colder, slushier soup)
2-4 tbsp agave nectar, or to taste
Blend thoroughly. Pour into cold bowls.
Cashew Creme
1/2 cup cashews
1 orange juiced
Blend, using more juice or water as needed.
Drop by spoonfuls around bowl of soup, in 5-6 large drops. Take a toothpick or the point of a knife and drag it through the drops of creme to make hearts.
Garnish with strawberries and a mint leaf.

OK I FINALLY made RP's brownies and was inspired by Rawks to try to make a "Store Bought" frosting. It came out tasting JUST like the kind in a tub.
RP recipe is hands down the most authentic "cooked like" recipe i have made for sweets! It is so good it could ONLY have been developed by a Priestess!!
I only made a tiny amaount as I was experimenting:
Store Bought Frosting
1T. coconut butter
1T. cocoa
few grains sea salt
squirt agave
few drops vanilla
I mixed this in a small bowl with a spoon but I am sure you could make a big batch and it would last till the next ice age. I recommend chilling once you have used it - I like the texture this way. . .yum!
I am going to try for a better picture

This was ever so yummy. They said it tastes just like the powdered junk!
Kwik Strawberry Milk
2 cups water
1/4 cup cashews
blend well & add:
1 1/2 - 2 cups strawberries (use half frozen for a colder drink)
3 tbs - 1/4 cup agave (to taste)
Blend until smooth adjusting the amount of sweetener to your liking.

I adapted RP's Famous Brownie Recipe from here and added a nice orange frosting made with the meat of a couple of coconuts, orange zest and juice, vanilla and cashews. Then I poured it over the brownie and returned it to the freezer. It hardened up quite nicely.
This is another recipe that went over very well with the family. Sometimes you just have to keep trying!

luscious looking chocolatey confections, i'll add today's sweet-tooth craving creation
All I can think to say is that it's a brownie sundae, which sounds so... normal ;) I think it tasted WAY better than i was able to capture on camera too :p
Here's what I jotted down as I was making it (finally I remember to do this)
soaked, dried almonds - about 1/2 cup
raw walnuts - about 1 cup? handful at least
Grind Grind Grind.
add 4 or 5 soaked dates.
Grind Grind.
bit of vanilla, teeny tiny bit of salt
3 or 4 big spoons of raw carob
1 or 2 big spoons of cocoa
couple squirts of raw agave nectar
Grind.
Dry in sun for at least 4 hours.
Frozen bananas blended.
Add some of the icing dry cashews powdered, with water and agave and vanilla. Water to thin pourably.
Blend and re-freeze quickly to solidify more.
Soaked dates, carob and agave and cocoa blended with soak water for chocolate sauce.
Pile up Brownie, ice cream, remaining runny icing, chocolate sauce
Note cocoa can be omitted and just use more carob...

Wow! Everything looks so yummy!!
Okay, I will make a few contributions of my own...
1. The "Just Like Cheesecake" recipe (found in this forum) with strawberry sauce on top (just strawberries blended with agave nectar)
2. Fruity Pops - Strawberries blended in Vitamix with lemon juice, water and agave (sorry I don't measure) and poured into popscicle molds that I got from Target. The orange one my oldest daughter has is simply orange juice with a little lemon juice in it for tartness (they LOVE that sour, tart stuff!)
3. Ice Cream Cones - Basic banana ice cream with vanilla and a little nut milk blended with it. The cone is simply made of strawberry fruit leather rolled into a cone shape.

This was amazing, although it doesnt look too good! It was a last minute decision to take a picture of it so I didnt bother to tidy it up.
I call it tomato tagliatelli (If thats how you spell it!). How original lol.
Tagliatelli:
Just carrots made into strips with a vegetable peeler.
Sauce:
Fresh Tomatoes (about 2)
Sundried tomatoes (about 1.5 handfulls)
Fresh Basil (about a handfull)
Cashew nuts (about 2 handfulls)
water (however much you want depending on how runny you like the sauce)
Whizz up the sauce with a hand held blender. It doesnt have to be completely smooth, its nice with some crunchy bits of nuts lol :D
Then just mix. Enjoy!

I was craving cream of anything soup and I did a search... found Melissa's post about using oats/almond/avocado for a creamy soup base. The result: delicious!
Cream of Celery soup
1/2 cup oats
10 almonds
1/2 avocado
3 celery stalks (maybe more)
celtic salt
pepper
dill
water to thin
squeeze of lime to taste
Grind oats and almonds in food processor until fine. Add avocado, celery, lime & spices process. With processor on, slowly pour in warm water until you reach the consistancy that you like your cream soups to be. Enjoy!!!!

The texture was very much like bread. The unfortunate thing was that my entire family cannot stand the taste of buckwheat!!!

These are from the great post floating around. I will give credit but I need to go downstairs to get the recipe!
It was wonderful and my grain sensitive daughter had no problems!!
I used my "Store Bought Frosting" to make the chips. I spread it out on wax paper, put in freezer, chopped up, added 1/2 mixed in to flavour dough then added other 1/2 and only mixed for a second so as to "see" the chips.
I tried chilled & dehydrated and really liked them chilled.

Fresh Almond Milk
Love it!
I actually prefer to take the time to blanch the almonds before blending. This way I don't have to strain them and lose any almond. It does take extra time, but I do it a little at a time and it is meditative. One key thing I do is remember to bless the almonds, by infusing them with Love and Respect.
Ingredients:
2 Cups Almonds (soaked & peeled)
5 TBPS Honey/Agave
Love and Respect
Water
Fill the VitaMix to the top, blend, and enjoy.
Optional Ingredients that REALLY make this a DEVINE TREAT:
1/2 Cup Lecithin
4 TBPS Tocotreinols
Dates
Sea Salt Pinch
Vanilla

Blueberry, apple, banana and lemon
Strawberry, cherry, banana, and lime
Mango, pineapple, apple and lime
I take these to church and my kids share them with the other children on the playground. Parents will come up and ask for the recipes - it really makes me feel good - and it's a great conversation starter for talking about raw foods!

This was adapted from Rawvolution's Famous Onion Bread - so I can post this recipe. Great book, by the way! However, dehydration temps are too low for me. I crank my dehydrator up because I don't want anything fermenting on me.
Onion Bread
3 sweet onions, halved and sliced thin in processor or with mandoline
3/4 cup flax seed, ground
1 1/2 cup sunflower seeds, ground
1/3 cup tamari (I used this as it's wheat free, but you can use nama shoyu)
1/4 cup grape seed oil
Combine ingredients in big bowl and then spread on to teflex sheet. Dehydrated at 135 for 2 hours, and then turn down to 115 8 hours-overnight. Flip on to mesh sheets and continued dehydrating about 5-6 hours or until dry but still flexible. Cut into squares.

Not-So-Green Smoothie
2 1/2 cups of fresh squeezed orange juice
your favorite greens! I used parsley, kale, red and green dandelion
Blend and strain with cheesecloth. You might not have to strain if you have a Vitamix
Pour the green juice back into the blender and add:
half of an avocado
3 cups sliced strawberries
Blend again
and enjoy!!

Nori Bites
Nori spread with a raw hummus made from lentil and other legume sprouts, ground with tahini, lemon, garlic, chive etc.... dehydrated about 6 or 8 hours. Trying to recreate something similar to Glaser Farms Sesame Nori thingys, these tasted totally different but also totally rawsome! Too bad I only made 1 sheet of nori :p

It's Alissa's Easy Apple Pie without a crust, with a Quince thrown in there, and with a persimmon-coconut frostingy thing on top, topped with ACV-dipped(to prevent oxidization) apple slices with nutmeg, cinnamon and chinese 5 spice powder sprinkled on top. And some star anise. The texture is definitely a spoon-eatin'-pie, but the flavor tastes EXACTLY like apple pie. It's awesome, I love it.

I love all these pictures! Here are some of mine: 1) Raw food real world's samosa wraps... with my own fillings. I just grabbed whatever I had in the fridge. Next time I'll try to find the real fillings to get the full taste. But the wraps themselves were so good they even won over my SAD boyfriend.
2 & 3) Some of Alissa's raw chili (with a couple extra ingredients and a few missing too), a lettuce leaf with some of Alissa's Nacho cheese as the filling and some awesome cinammon raisin bread from Alissa's book too! :) I am a well fed college girl. ;)

Looky looky--I made and ate my calzones. Yummy, but very rich for me. Surely didn't let that hold me back either. It was my first time attempt and I did have a crack or two, but nothing to hold my mouth shut from eating!
I originally had two large ones and sorry but one got eaten by me before I could snap picture. My pizza was made using same crust. Got a little fancy and made some "neat"balls without a picture here. They were great too..no particular recipe: onions, walnuts, carrots, portabella mushrooms put all in blender...roll into ball...done...dehydrate now....yum.

Great thread this one, I love to sit and drool over all this delicious food! It almost always make me go create someting myself.. Now, I've struggled a long time trying to figure out how to post them photos, hopefully I've got it right this time (I am NO computer wizard :o ) if there is no pictures, please bear with me, have a little laugh and explain me how to do it! :p
The first is a simple salad I made for my beloved mate, it was really simple, salad, cukes and tomatoes but the tomatoes are supposed to shape a heart. The next is a breakfast he made for me once, it was really good, especially because it was prepared FOR me (I make all my food myself these days..) and served with love. I love my fruit, and I love when there is abundance of it like that! Last of all is the wheatgrass juice I just made this very morning yum!

I've grown quite fond of porridge in the mornings now that it is cold and dark outside. It's usually just made with soaked buckwheat and bananas blended smooth and then apple and raisins on top. That other thing is the desert fromt he other evening, my mate loved it! The "cake" is basically just what I got on hand, mainly raisins and walnuts. The icecream is banana, cactusfruit and maybe orange. Thw whole thing was topped with EPPP's good "storebought frosting"

That pizza looks really good.....
Here's an idea I had from reading a book that Alissa is in along with other women "Beautiful on Raw".
1 bunch of raw collard greens
1 bunch kale
some spinach
1/4 c pine nuts ( or as you like it)
1/4 c olive and hemp oil (or to taste)
4 cloves crushed garlic
I juiced lemon
some mustard powder to taste
celtic sea salt to taste
chop up the greens in thin strips, bite size. Marinate with dressing and mix to combine the pine nuts. The longer it marinates the softer and yummier it will be. serves about 4

It was all fresh, organic, raw and wonderfully tasty! All of the people at the lunch were sad eaters and they loved all of the raw food! I knew they would! They are all totally interested in the raw lifestyle now!

Don prepared dessert the other day... Persimmons and banana ice cream topped with Macadamia cream and Maraw's Crumble cookie. Yum!
RFRW's Cauliflower Samosas in turnip wrap. Actually, there were a lot more but just before I ate them all, I thought they were so good I just had to post about them. See recipe in coming post...

this is the first raw meal my hubby made me :) it was advocado scopped out and then mixed with carrot, fennel, and herbs and put back into the advocado shell. Then there is cucumber along with it. his first raw creation bliss :) :p

this is what i did today. i was feeling i wanted something that would fill me up. It is Alissa's mashed potato and gravy recipe, with Shazzies walnut burger recipe click here (http://www.shazzie.com/raw/recipes/) and then some parsnip and carrot marinated in olive oil and black pepper. it was like comfort food.

Here are my latest experiments!
1) Raw Granola Bars and Mysticat's Gingerstar cookies dehydrating. The awesome Gingerbread cookies from Mysticat! I literally ate half the batch and felt great after! The next morning I had 2 extra amazing BMs too, so I think somehow there is something to the fiber in those. ;)
2) A plate of raw deserts I made for a non-raw potluck: gingerbread cookies and Alissa's fudge balls rolled in coconut flakes. With banana slices.
3) Crunchy Apple Cinnamon Salad: My very own creation, just a granny smith apple sliced and sprinkled with cinnamon. It's really not a creation, but it's just what I felt like eating while I was apple fasting. I just love how the apple core looks like a star!
4) Raw Granola Bars (a variation of a recipe found on this board)
5) Cousen's Raw Chili with Alissa's Tortilla chips
6) Same plate of goodies but this time with some chocolate-mint fudge balls! These were awesome! I need to make them again soon. :) EDIT: The recipe for the mint fudge balls is basically Alissa's fudge balls and I added some mint extract to it. I used ground cacao instead of carob, but other than that it's the same recipe as the coconut covered ones too. :)
Enjoy!
