We have a small orchard of plum and apple trees. Does anyone have any suggestions for the best way to freeze them (or otherwise make use of a massive quantity of plums or apples)? I've read on here about people using whole frozen plums, as well as cut up pieces. What works better? Any tips on freezing process? Should I pit them first and if I cut them up, do I need to add some lemon juice or anything to prevent browning? Do you guys use giant ziplock bags?

Thanks for any suggestions. I did a lot of canning and jamming last year, but that's now out. I'm kind of glad. It was a real pain.

I'm probably going to have at least 1,000 of each. If we weren't in the middle of nowhere, I'd invite all you guys down to just help me finish them up!

**sits in her chair thinking of sitting in a tub of fresh apple juice**

How about making your own Apple Cider Vinegar??

Or Apple Fruit leather

Or You could juice the apples then freeze it in cubes and drop em in your smoothies for a LONG time! Woohoo Wow that is what I would do :)

I'd also make fresh juice several times a day! I'd wash my face and hair with it ( no joke I totally would!!!!), Make Frozen Apple Icecream, Apple/Raisin Cinnamon bars, Dehydrated apple slices.

Then I would Dry the plums in the sun and make your own prunes! Have you tried Raw Prue whip? and talk about keeping you regular?

Wow I would probably smell like apples for a month If I came to your house! hahah

I'd love to have just one tree let alone an orchard!!

Those are GREAT suggestions, thanks so much! If you're anywhere in northern California, you're welcome to come and get some. :)

We have all these heirloom varieties, including grafts from trees over 120 years ago. They have been organic since they were planted.
