What is maca?

I've heard some people talk about it, that it gives you protein and supposedly helps your sex life, and gives you more energy. Any of this true? How does it taste?

ellenalesa - yes it is supposed to do wonders for you but see one of my recent threads about maca, in which I discovered its highly 'wind' producing effects!!
