I bought their toffee flavored stevia and used it in my raw chocolate candy recipes. It was divine. The company recently introduced more delicous flavors such as dark chocolate, chocolate rasberry. Does anyone know how healthy these are? Thanks in advance.

First, these are likely not raw.

As for the issue of safety, I guess that all depends on your views. Stevia can't be legally sold as a sweetener in the US and other countries. It can be sold as a supplement though. If you do a search on the safety of stevia, you'll see both sides of the story and both seem rather extreme. I'd just as soon not use it. No need.

Thanks Julie for your feedback.

I definitely don't think it's raw. However, can it be that bad? Dr. Gabriel Cousens recommends stevia and uses this particular brand. However, under ingredients, it says 'natural flavors'. I'm not exactly sure what it is meant by that.

Everyday, we cut one leaf from our stevia plant (we have 3 big healthy ones) and put it in our green star juicer with the other greens. Along with the mint we add, it makes the juice slightly sweet and pleasant....with no aftertaste.

I am so glad Stevia works for you and you love it so much. I could not get passed the taste, no matter how little I used. But as I said..........I am so glad it works for you.................

I've tried many brands and they all taste bad. This is the only brand that taste yummy.

I like the bottled liquid in some things (I've never tried any of the flavored ones!) I've read both good and bad about Stevia, but nothing that's convinced me that using it in small quantities is dangerous.

Someone here once said that Stevia was making their hair fall out, but nobody else who posted on that thread shared that experience and I've never heard of it anywhere else, so I can only assume that the person's hair was falling out for some other reason and they were blaming the Stevia.
