I'm pleased to share the great news that a new raw restaurant opened today in Redondo Beach.

It has a delightful menu including breakfast, salads and entrees, tapas, a kids menu, desserts, flowering teas and a dynamic tonic and smoothie bar. The "bar man" just spent a year at Tree of Life and whips up some incredible life-full concoctions. Plus, it's beautifully decorated and gets a cooling ocean breeze since the beach is just a few blocks away.

It is:

Terra Bella Cafe
1408 South P.C.H. (Pacific Coast Highway)
Redondo Beach, CA

www.terrabellacafe.com (soon to be more than a "placemarker")

I have to admit I'm a little biased since I'm helping out the wonderful owner/chef, Melissa Davison. I had a great time spending much of today in the kitchen with her.

For you locals, I hope to see your smiling living foods faces soon. And ... everyone else, be sure to jot this down for your next visit to Southern California!

I've been there twice now (it's only been open a few days as of this writing), and it's very, very, very exciting. What a GREAT place, with a great vibe, and everyone who "works" there (you can tell it's a Labour of Love!) is so nice, and the food is exquisite!!! I'm already hooked!!! These people "get it" -- very cool people and place. I can't wait to go back.

I HIGHLY recommend it. I would travel for miles to get there (Thank God, I'm just up the road a bit)...

RaH for RAW!!!

We did travel for miles to get there and worth every minute and drop of gasoline.

We has bruschetta's, Thai Wraps, manicotti, salad, chocolate cake and raspberry pie. It was quite delicious. The cake and pies were outstanding!!!! Suggested they might consider creating something similar up here in the east Valley. :D No room for smoothies.

The place itself is beautiful. Very open and spacious with seating indoors and out. We had a nice corner table by the window.

Got to see RT who we've not seen in quite some time. Nice to see her looking so vibrantly happy.

Hi Raw Truth.. Great to meet you all at Terra Bella yesterday. The place was wonderful! The service was great and staff were very friendly. I was the one who had the little baby. I liked your idea about making baby food!! :) Remember me...I was gonna fight the guy at the counter for the last piece of cheesecake  Guess I will have to make it back over there to taste it. :)

My Carnivorous husband loved the Living Lasagne and the Thai wraps were delish! The smoothie was also fabulous (coconut and chocolate). We will be back!

My wife and I tried Terra Bella for lunch on Sunday, and it was fabulous!

Great space... so nice to see a raw restaurant done with style... so many of our L.A. raw spots look like cold, spartan cafeterias. But TB is so lovely, I could actually imagine spending an evening dining there.

And I know the atmosphere would make it easier to introduce a few of our SAD friends to this lifestyle -- a lot of our near-and-dear ones get a bit freaked out by what they perceive as the dreadlocked-hippy-dippy-new-age-sunshine-and-love crowd.

Great service, friendly staff -- the juice barman gave us a mini-lecture on chocolate vs. cacao vs. carob vs. raw chocolate. I think I've finally got it.

So, kudos to all involved and best wishes for success!

Okay.. Went back to try the desserts and they are fabulous. THE APPLE PIE made me want to slap someone and the banana chocolate parfait is in my fridge now waiting to be eaten after dinner! YUMMY YUMMY!
