I treated myself to a gravity fed colonic this afternoon. After a year transitioning to raw and three weeks 100% I thought this was a good time.
I wanted to ask everyone's opinion. I have no plans to do it again although I "enjoyed" (even though it was not pleasant) the experience and felt it was needed.
I am currently a bit bloated and very very lethargic. I feel I should eat for energy but have no appetite. I had a large green smoothie just after that was two hours ago.
The naturpath commented that I released a large amount of bile from my liver and that was good.
thanks for your comments! :)
Hey I posted BEFORE doing a SEARCH - a brain fart I guess so thanks but no replies are nessasary!

When I am not hungry, I don't eat. You could be a slow oxidixer. If you are interested in finding out more about it, get the book Concious Eating by Gabriel Cousens. It will explain it.
I am a slow oxidixer, and I don't have to eat alot. My portions are always small. When I eat too many nuts I get sluggish. I feel best when I have a small amount of fats.
What did you mean when you said that your Nat. said that you released alot of bile? How did she know, and what was she refering to?

After the initial clear out the color became bright yellowish green. She said that was the bile that indicated I was clearing a lot of toxins. What are you thinking. . . I picture you rubbing your chin and going hmmm :o
I will look into getting that book; I have ALL the others so didnt think I could justify it.
Yes I too feel I dont need to eat much. I was just wondering how to overcome this after colonic sluggish feeling - it's a bit like after you have just had a cooked carb spree except it is just physical not mental! Cheers

after I have mine done, I usually eat very lightly, a piece of fruit or I juice or make a smoothie
I find that after all of that I'm not very hungry LOL

I would agree with what everyone else is saying. If you don't feel hungry, don't eat... or at least, don't eat much. I usually just force myself to eat a tiny bit to keep the blood sugar up.
How did you find the place where this was done? I've heard good things about colonics but have no idea what to look under in the phone book.

Actually I live in an area (Eastside, Seattle) that is very open to alternative health methods and it was just my luck that my chiropractor opened a "healing clinic" last year specialising in treating sevear illnesses. I also did a bit of research and was told to make sure it was a "gravity feed" system which it is.
If you are looking in your area I would first try posting here to see if you can get a recommendation. Also try postings in your health food store. Also I think think there is a Natrapathic association you can look up for one's in your area.
Cheers :p

I guess I did not know what I was thinking. I was trying to figure out what they meant. But, yeah, sounds like what they (Naturalpath) are saying sounds right.
Try this out until you get the book. If you are a slow oxidizer you should eat 55-60% carbohydrates, 30-35% protein, 10-15% fat.
Sometimes, I will even just have a vegetable juice in the evening instead of dinner.
I have noticed that after I get a colonic I feel sluggish also. I wonder if it is because toxins are loosened during the colonic. I only get them if I am stopped up like crazy or durring a fast. I have heard that colonics can make you colon sluggish, and you can become dependent on them. I am leaning toward that belief, I think they have there place. That is just my opinion.
