Hey there

So my boyfriend and I went out to eat last night and he wanted to take me to a Brazilian restaurant - I had already eaten a little before he suggested it so I thought I'd try it out.

I went and looked at the entire menu to see what veggies they use in other entrees.

I noticed that they had 2 large salad options and then I also noticed that they offered a pasts with zucchini and other veggies.

So I asked for one of the salads - and asked them to add some zucchini if they could.

He told me it wouldn't be cooked...I said "GREAT!"

so then I got a bottle of their olive oil and there were lemons on the table for decoration and I cut one open and used the lemon juice and olive oil as dressing.

Ohhhh it was tasty!

Jerry had Lamb, plantains, rice and beans. and boy it looked great and I wanted a taste of the lamb, but figured it wasn't worth the consequence of finding myself wanting more cooked food later.

WOW

I'm wanting to learn how to make the restaurant experience more interesting for me since I know that it will be more limited then when I ate EVERYTHING.

I'm considering bringing an avocado and my own dressing with me so I can get more filled up with a salad.

I have another challenge on Saturday night.

My dad's birthday dinner is at a seafood restaurant in Malibu.

I think I'll eat something before we go and bring things to eat with me.

I may bring a blueberry pie to share for the dessert.

My dad has diabetes so it might be fun to make him something he can actually eat for his b-day cake.

Hey Catherine - You did great! That must be why you call yourself Catherinethegreat!

Which seafood restaurant in Malibu? I used to go to one all the time as a kid on PCH.

Hi Everyone,

Cat,

My dad too has health issues. Seems everyone over 60 has diabetes.

Wish your Dad a happy birthday and toast with some Champagne. Propose a toast to a cool guy and down a glass.Say something nice. Lead the way. I've got a feeling you really love the dude as much as I love my old man. Though he won't listen to me about food and stuff he's still my pop. Yeah ,Yeah, then you'll all cry for a minute and hug.

" Waiter bring us another bottle"

Make sure to tip 25%.

Have a great night.

Peace,

M.B.

hahaha...that's funny...i can just imagine you in the restaurant cutting up the decorations and putting them on your plate...hehehehe...good for you!!! :) bringing your own dressing and some other veggies that you know they don't usually have at restaurants is a good idea...i always do that when i go out with my parents...it drives them crazy...but oh well...it works :)

I LOVE that you bring your own food when you go out with your parents!!!!!

That makes me feel so much better about it.

I was thinking I was high maintenance but I think its low maintenance now - because I'm essentially taking responsibility for my own choices with food, and not making them change their restaurant just for me. I can go anywhere with an avocado in my pocket! :D

Catherine, I love the mental image of you cutting up the lemon used for decoration for your salad! LOL!

I love your avatar; having that to see every time you post must be a great inspiration to keep you raw. You're beautiful!

That's a very sweet compliment about my avatar !

Yes I look at it and think that if I was looking that way last year - I can look that way again.
