So I have to have a really nice raw picnic ready in about 24 hours, any suggestions or ideas or recipes... One of my main needs is for a really good raw cracker that can be made quickly with no sprouting/soaking, etc. Also anything else, it has to be sort of more substantial than I would picnic with myself, as SAD eaters are involved.
OF COURSE RAWPRIESTESS' BROWNIES ARE DESSERT :) :D :D !!! Thanks again for that one RP!!! Just one question, how do we not eat them in the next 24 hours? :p

The KFC coleslaw recipe that is in this forum...Alissa's potato salad recipe (I've never tried it, but heard it's good)...you could make a batch of flax crackers and have them done by tomorrow morning if you start now 'cause the flax seeds can be ground and liquid added to the mixture rather than soaking them.

(you could also just do it as a pate'/bar-b-q "burger" type of thing)

Corn Salad with Cilantro Dressing

4 fresh Corn Cobs, stripped
1 diced Red Bell Pepper
1 Avocado, cubed
Dressing:
1 minced Garlic
1 small Onion
½ Jalapeno Pepper
1 small bunch Cilantro
1 Lime, juiced
½ tsp Sea Salt (or to taste)
2 tsp Flax or Olive Oil

In a medium bowl, combine the corn, red bell pepper & avocado. Set aside. In a blender, Vita-Mix or food processor, combine the dressing ingredients. Pulse until the cilantro is finely chopped. Mix the dressing with the salad. Enjoy!

thanks everyone for the GREAT ideas and recipes!!!
Rawkinlocs, I'm going with your suggestions as the main part of the meal, then adding fresh corn on the cob as you posted back in Auntie L's original post. So festive and summer picnic/BBQ vibe.
JEN, I make a salad similar to that one and it is ALWAYS a big hit, so thanks for the idea and recipe.
LayLay thanks for the suggestions, your green pate sounds amazing, if I'm not too exhausted to go get some watercress I will try it out. I have wild arugula in the garden I wonder if that will work.
Here's hopin' those darn crackers are crackin' by then (we just got a rainstorm and it's very humid). I have flax crackers a-dehydratin' and a recipe from Raw Food Real World in there for corn chips (fresh corn, red bell pepper, flax, hemp lime juice, jalapeno, cumin chili powder...) I'm thinking they'll work as a cracker too. I soaked and sprouted some sunflower, they'll be ready for a pate by tomorrow, then I'm pretty much ready to go, along with some raspberries and sugar snap peas and shelling peas from the garden.
