sorry Folks But I'm Taking The Liberty Of Saying:

I would suggest not using Any Tea Containing Senna Leaf Or Senna Leaf Tea B/c of the known Side Effects some of us endured here. It's known to be Addicting And with chronic use, can Stunt Your Bowels.

This post is soley my personal opinion and based on experiences :)

First of all, you don't know what else she's been doing/drinking/eating other than what was stated. I have been drinking a tea containing senna leaf for three days now. Today will be my fourth. I don't usually drink these kind of things yet, since I won it at a networking meeting I thought I'd test it out on myself. This has not caused me any problems whatsoever.

Methinks one might get more information before stating something like this about one particular herb being "deadly". The whole m/c process may be causing the vomiting as it did me. If I remember correctly, the mixture contains cayenne? Is this correct?

Also, you don't know if the tea she is drinking ONLY has senna leaf. What else does it contain?

I can repsect your view Revvell.

But 3 years ago when I had a adverse reaction ended up in the ER, my sis has ended up in the hosp for ill effects of it afte one use and at that time, I did reserach and found accounts of adverse reaction and a couple sites did indicate "deathly" reactions---to waht context at that time, was and is good enough for me.............and encountering others here who have gotten ill.

You're right though---those who wish to use it. By all means go for it. ;)

What I'm saying is, you don't know that that is the cause of this particular incidence. It could have been any number of things which you and I are not aware of, including bad maple syrup causing food poisoning; cayenne pepper which irritates the stomach and esophagus potentially causing vomiting, etc., etc., etc., and to put it on one herb takes away from another potential cause.

Awhile ago after eating kumquats off an unsprayed tree my throat closed up and I had difficulty breathing.

Not to negate your experiences yet any number of us can put up warnings about this or that food we've had a sensitivity to and make it someone else's dire warning ~ and it may well never be their experience.

WARNING: Kumquats will cause suffocation (well, it almost happened to me, didn't it?) :p

LOL, ya know what Revvell. my response was mostly emotional based :o You're right, my statement was not fair for those who feel it is safe.

I will go back and revise my post---just worry that someone will hurt themselves---especially when it is during a fasting period where no food/solids are there to slow down the process.

Oki, thank you for keeping me in check..........now let me go back to being CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

"dont' Use Any Tea Containing Senna Leaf Or Senna Leaf Tea B/c It Has Side Effects That Many Have Endured. Most Recently Someone Here, Was Vomitting. It's Addicting And Stunts Your Bowels. Adverse Reactions Are Common With This Herb And It Can Be Daethly As I Have Read In Other Rearch. Do Enemas Or Whatever. :)

I tried this herb several times, always to end up with horrid cramps...and the effect lastest DAYS after I drank the tea. Needless to say it is cleansing to the point of painful.
