Hi All!!
I just was so excited to make this discovery that I had to share it.
I was looking for information on Type II Diabetes for my non raw eating brother, and I was reading past articles here for information. Something that caught my eye was about how skin tags are prominant with people that have lots of health issue ie. hormonal disorders, liver sluggishness, and on and on...and as we know a product of our HORRIBLE old SAD diets.
I was starting to rapidly get these and I figured that it was just a growing old thing as I have seen them on my own family etc... I have one over my eye and one under that I was contemplating cutting off (hygenically of course) because it was starting to really bug me both visually and opening and closing my eyelid.
I was seeing alot of other ones beginning and it was really very frustrating.
So, as I was sitting here reading, I instinctively reached up and felt for them.
OH MY OH MY OH MY!!! GONE
There are just not there! Any of them!! **Nearly falls out of the chair**
I rushed to the bathroom, flicked on the light and shoved my face right up to that old mirror and HOLY MISSING SKIN TAGS BATMAN!!!
I am just so thrilled I can't even begin to tell you.
Every day I find another reason to stick tight to eating this way and not allowing anything or anyone tell me otherwise :)
Just felt like sharing that with you guys :)

I really feel like I am TOTALLY rebuilding my body and I know I can't be impatient, and these steps forward make such a difference don't they??
You know... I have been washing my face with Mango and banana :) Think that rubbing fruit from the outside helps too??? MAYBE! :D :D

Hey Ellen,
I just pop the over ripe mango and banana in the ol food processor and make a delightfully smelling MUSH
I used this on my hair too and although it makes it silky, it does make the hair feel heavier. Lately I have been washing my whole body, hair included with Baking soda first and then slathering the mush mixture on. When I want my hair feeling lighter I just do the Baking soda with an Apple Cider Vinegar rinse and that is wonderful too :)
Since it's summer, I have been bathing outside in the sunshine and I am lovin that lemme tell ya!
I collect my rain water and let is set a day or so and use that for a hair rinse. Soft :)

"A skin tag is a common, benign condition which consists of a bit of skin that projects from the surrounding skin and may appear attached to the skin. Skin tags can vary quite a bit in appearance. They may be smooth or irregular, flesh colored or more deeply pigmented, and either simply be raised above the surrounding skin or have a stalk (a peduncle) so that the skin tag hangs from the skin." - from this Link (http://www.medicinenet.com/skin_tag/article.htm)

Skin tags are linked to type 2 diabetes. Could be other things too, but there is a link to diabetes. If you get your blood sugar under control, they usually go away. There are a lot of other skin conditions related to diabetes. One isAcanthosis nigricans. It's a condition in which tan or brown raised areas appear on the sides of the neck, armpits, and groin. Sometimes they also occur on the hands, elbows, and knees.
Acanthosis nigricans usually strikes people who are very overweight. The best treatment is to lose weight. Some creams can help the spots look better.

FASCINATING!
Do you know what this could mean? I read or heard that if you have skin tags it is an indication of a greater tendency to develop cancer! Has anyone else heard that?
I was worried about it and asked a doctor who just got this "Duh" look on his face and said, basically, "Duh". WHY don't they know or like to hear of the possible indicators of relationships between things that happen in the body?
I think this sounds kind of logical because if cells are running wild and growing where they shouldn't on the outside, wouldn't that be an indication that the same thing could be happening on the inside too? That is just not nice to think about. What a good thing that we are doing this diet then. If there is anything to it, maybe we can get rid of the tags and the lower the risk.

definatly! around 10 years ago, before raw was very much heard of or popular, a friend of mine went to a far off country, and cured her cancer through a raw diet! WAY back when!

Wow Gracie
this thread has completely stumped me in shock. Only yesterday I was worried that a skin tag/mole in colour thingy that I have had on inside of my elbow since I was young looks as if its hangin in there for dear life as if its just about to fall off!! I was worried about this as it is a change but I never for a minute considered that it might be a good thing and in fact my healthier diet may be causing it to come off altogether! am sooooo excited!! Easily pleased!! Thanks Gracie and great for you!! hey I really enjoy your humour in your posts too!! made me giggle aloud.. so keep em comin girl!!

Woohoo! You guys just add to my Cheer and Joy Everyday :D
I'm thrilled for all of you that are seeing changes too!
And sheeeesh, If you would have told me 6 months ago that I would wanna do back flip over loosing a Skin Tag, I would have bought you a one way ticket to the El Funny Farmo!!
It is amazing how simplicity in eating can radiate into other things. Finding joy where you are living at the moment.. I mean, isn't that so incredibly important and what our goal should really be? Living here and now?
Fallenangel/Yvonne: Awesome Girl!! keep us updated and thanks for your sweet words :)
I enjoy so much, reading and sharing and learning from all of you and I can't even imagine NOT having this place to come now.
THANKS ALISSA!

Congratulations! After just one month raw! How you diet looks like? Do you eat salt, oil, spices, dehydrated stuff?
I am raw for 8 months, but my skin tag on my leg is till there. Also my warts on my foot. After 6 months raw, I had several cooked meals in two week range before I bounced back to all raw. During those cooked 2 weeks I got 2 new warts on my finger, but they quickly dissapeared once I went back to raw. But not the original ones on the foot.
Maybe you eat cleaner diet or maybe your body has less work to do than my, I am very happy for you, but the same time dissapointed that it did not happen for me yet.

Hi GreeninLA!
I went from SAD to High Raw 42 days ago. I do use a little Celtic sea salt and some Raw Olive Oil. I have sun dried my spices and I grind them myself.
I am still going through cleaning and detoxing my body and it shows in different ways but I have always been very lucky to have pretty good skin. I have an Olive complexion and even now at 45, my skin is still oily and I don't have to many wrinkles.
I am not sure why you have not lost yours or been affected more positively, maybe that is the last thing your body will heal. Goodness knows it is different for everyone.
I also do not use any traditional soap or shampoo anymore.
I wash my face and body with Baking Soda and I also put fruit mash (anything will do if it's nice and ripe) I have been using Mango/banana lately. RP says she uses fruit too and I just totally love the idea of washing your hair with strawberries!!
Then I will rinse most times with some Apple Cider Vinegar and water. So maybe this helps too I don't know.
You should ask and see what others have done about the warts. Maybe they have some really great ideas there for you :)

I definetly think that eating RAW was the catalist for the skin tags leaving. Balancing the hormones and such in my body was no doubt the reason. As for using the fruit mash? I couldn't really say other than it makes my skin feel great and I wasn't expecting anything and I wasn't working to get rid of them, so imagine my surprise when they were just gone!
Hoping you have the same success
Fruit inside and fruit outside! Sure can't hurt :)
