View Full Version : Lose weight on 24 hour fasts

Hi everyone! I have fasted for 24 hours before and I always lose 3 pounds on it. So would it be healthy to fast for one day, eat raw for one day, fast for one day, and so on, til I reach my goal weight? (Only about 7-9 pounds away) Would I even be losing fat?

It depends on the type of fast. I had a friend who lost 100 lbs eating as many fruits as she could one day, the next eat as many veggies, and the third day juice fast. She did this for about 2 1/2 months. She ahd a slow metabolism and this shocked her metabolism into burning the food off. I also read in a book where this one nutritionist water/ tea fasts one day a week, every week. I dont know about every other day because I suppose your body could get adapt to it and it might not do any good. But Im no professional. lol

I"m sure it would've been more safe had she done one day fruit, one day vegetables,, then back to fruit.
but overall is it safe?

Well on juices Im sure it is. There are people who cant eat solid food who live off juices. People juice fast for months. I read in all types of books and articles of people who do juice fasting for months to lose weight. you jsut have to know how to start and finish and yada yada,
