I have just ordered 3 books from Amazon in the UK - good reductions compared to what I'd pay in the shops and cheap shipping.

Sunfood Diet Success System by David Wolfe updated 2006 version

The Raw Food Detox Diet by Natalia Rose

Raw Food Real World by Matthew Kenney (saw the reviews on this site and was tempted to go for it!)

As the last one has been discussed in another post, does anyone have comments on the other two books? Good or bad impressions?

I just want to extend my raw library and see different authors points of view. They are not available in libraries near me - I think the thought is that it is not a popular enough topic.

Alissa's book was my first raw book and made it happen for me. I still read bits of it every week!

Hi Tracy,

Well done! I do not have the first one although I think it's the only one I dont have - lol.

Natalias book is what got me started. I use her Green lemonade as the base to all my smoothies and her Liquid Gold Elixer dressing is out of this world. Her approach is very specified to gradually introduce raw to newbies depending on their level of SAD addicition. She also has some cooked recipes - again to introduce. I liked her style very much although I do not use it much for recipes othe r than the two I mentioned. A good read.

And RFRW well I am sure you already know my opionion on that one!!!!! I carry it in the car with me- lol. They each share thier raw journey at length and written so very well and the recipes are amazing!

All the best! :p

I just got Sunfood Diet.... book. I've just started reading it, but so far I really like it. I know someone had a thread about it. Maybe if you do a banana search for David Wolfe you might find it?

EPPP - you crack me up! I can imagine you with one hand on the steering wheel and one flicking through the book to plan a recipe for dinner!

Cecilia - I will do a search on this forum. I'm just hoping david Wolfe doesn't blind me with science! I need things plain and simple and not too technical!

Thanks.

The Sunfood book is quite good IMO. Well presented, nice pictures. Some of it I think is a bit silly (the chapter on "intelligent design" for example) but overall it's a great resource. One of the best raw books I've seen. :)

I've been trying to order this for over a year on Amazon but after a few months they'll say they haven't been able to locate a copy!

ambermum -- if you want to order the book "Sunfood Diet Success System" by David Wolfe updated 2006 version, one place that has it is www.rawfood.com. I too was waiting for Amazon, and then found it there.

My books arrived today - all three together - and I have dipped into all of them.

Raw Food Real World has super pictures in. Only comment so far is that 'young cocounut' is used in a lot of receipes and I don't think I can find that here in England. We usually only get the brown hairy ones!

Natalia Rose book is a good intro to raw although I don't want to be 'part' raw so I will stick to the 100% raw aspect where possible.

David Wolfe - need to spend a bit more time on this one as there are quite a lot of chapters.

Each book seems to have good things to offer so I'll spend the rest of my time off work this week indulging myself buy not doing anything else except reading them!!

Yippee! Did you swing the VitaMix too???

I would contact Shazzie and ask where SHE gets her young coconuts - I pay about $2.50 each here. The flesh is very soft so lends well to things like ice cream ect so I am not sure you can sub mature coconut - althought on some I am sure you can. What about the Halal or Thai markets?

Also dont forget about Natalias Green Lemonade & Liquid Gold Elixir! Ooh and the Carrot soup from RFRW. . . .

Cheers!

EPPP - the Vitamix sadly will have to go on hold. We have a lot of household expenses coming up and my husband says we cannot consider a 'less necessary' expense at the moment. Thanks for helping with that though. I think I'll just ask for it for Christmas.

Thanks for the tip about the coconuts. I must check out the asian and idian shops more regularly.
