Hello, I am a 59-year-old lady that is overweight; I have a friend that suggested that I start eating only raw fruits and veggies. I took the advice and am into my 11th day. I have also read the Fit for Live books, in searching the Internet found this site. I am very impressed with the way the site is put together.
So far I have lost 13 lbs. but I can not believe that change that I am feeling in my outlook on life, and the fact that my legs no longer feel like I am dragging sacks of cement.
I have had some craving, but am not giving in to those cravings, that in it's self is a new experience for me.
I sign up for the 30-day Raw challenge, and am looking forward to seeing the end results of that.
Since I live alone, I do not have any issues of not cooking, and I love the fact that this is so easy. I have not tried anything at this point but eating the fresh fruits and veggies. Looking forward to trying some of the recipes
in the furure, have also order the book. Can not wait until I have it to reed.
Sue from Oklahoma.

Welcome Sue!
Your doing great so far. :D
This is such an informative group and Alissa's book is awesome
and resourceful. I have many raw lifestyle/cookbooks and hers
is definately my favorite....especially for someone new to all this.
Her recipes I've tried so far are wonderful.

I'm somewhat familiar with juice fasting (haven't done it yet but intend to start one on MOnday - however, maybe this raw challenge would be better? - anyone care to explain?

Welcome Sue and you're in a great place here! Support out of the ying-yang!

Singstoo- the 30 day challenge is where you give yourself 30 days to live 100% raw. If you can commit to 30 days, you will see the wonderful benefits of raw, and hopefully continue your journey. Here is the link where Alissa explains about the 30 day challenge:

It great to have you all here! Best wishes!

Welcome, Sue.

Today is my 11th day (it's 1:20 a.m.!!), so I'm new also even, though I've been eating mostly raw for a long time as a vegan.

You're going to be amazed at the testimonials and success stories in Alissa's book. I'm impressed at how much weight you've already lost. But, you've certainly honed in on what I think is the most important benefit -- a change in your outlook and experience of life.

Make yourself at home, Sue.

Hi Sue. I can't wait to read your 30 day challenge journal. I will make sure and pop over there to read it. You will absolutely Love Alissa's book. I am still reading it and I also got the DVD. Both are well worth the money. I know what you mean by the way your body feels while eating this way. I just started Jan. 2nd so am new at this too. I want to wish you great success and Welcome! :)
