Hi everyone,

I have been high raw since June 26, with a couple of days of 100%. I have some questions. I'd like to get to 100% on August 1. I have Alissa's book and have read it and am always asking questions. I bought Green for Life, EAting Without Heating and Cornbleet's book. I have several book on hold from the library about raw.

I ordered a dehydrator and hope to get it this week.

Here are my questions:

What is the difference between High and 100% raw?

How do you feel full enough? Usually I'm fine w/fruits, veg, and nuts and seeds, but sometimes I want heavier feeling food. I know that I will want heartier food when the weather gets cold.

I know preparation is the key. I have lots of fruit with me at all times, and salad fixins. I'm experimenting with new fruits and vegetables and new recipes.

A lot of times when I have eaten cooked, it's vegetarian. I make lentil burgers and refried bean burgers that I will try to make raw once I get my dehydrator. I'll learn how to make wraps and things and that will help, also.

Thanks...

Ellen

Hi,

Differences between "high" and "100%" and their definitions vary among individuals.
You will have to see for yourself, basically.

If you want heavier raw foods, then eat them raw. Depriving yourself will eventually not end well.

FOR ME, it was all about transitioning, through raw to where I am now, I used to think I wanted bread and veggie burgers, and things, but all I wanted was to feel full, because I was taught that was what I SHOULD feel like, now I know that drinking one glass of orange juice will make me feel full, and if I am cold, I warm up what ever I'm eating in the dehydrator or to finger warm, as in a soup or sauce and I'm happy.

When you eat 100% raw, the detox happens pretty quickly, and you will soon, no longer have those cooked food cravings, now you couldn't pay me to eat cooked, because I KNOW I would have those terrible cravings, and I"M not going back there.

Once you cross over to the raw side, it's easy to stay here, now I did go on/off/on/off for a while, and that was where I needed to leardn (several times) how my body reacted, so I don't do bottled salald dressing, or canned olives, or anything even remotely NON raw, I just keep it raw, and I'm happy and no cravings, and all is well in my world.

In the beginning when I felt the need for something heavier Avacodas were my salvation. I never feel that need now.

Most people call High Raw when you are eating above 75% of your food RAW. These numbers vary depending on who you talk to. You can remain so called HIGH RAW forever, I just feel it is a catch word. Not taking away from the fact that your body benefits from any RAW.

100% RAW, means just that. No gaps, no spaces just 100%. Not junk today and RAW tomorrow. 100%

I wish you 100% RAW since that is your desire. I shall be 100% until I slip away to GLORY.............

I consider 100% when you consume absolutely NOTHING cooked. High raw to me is when you're mostly raw but have some things like non-raw dressings, the occassional non-raw drink (tea, soda, ect.), or other similar items.

As for feeling full...the feelilng of "full" on SAD is completely a different thing then on raw. First you may be wanting that feeling out of comfort, but after a while you'll just eat to be satisfied. In the mean time try heavier foods (avocado, niuts, seeds).
