Oh my, the Vitamic TNC looks absolutely wonderful (I tasted some of the results at a recent raw food 'cookery' demonstration ) but GOOD GRIEF it costs £395 in England!!! I think that must be the equivalent of $700 dollars in the US.

I've looked on Ebay and haven't seen one any cheaper and all the standard UK raw food outlets (Shazzie, Raw Living, Fresh Network) are charging the same price I quoted above.

Does anyone reading this in the UK have any suggestions as to where I could find a good condition, used Vitamix for considerably less that £395? (Remember that our voltage is different from the US and I'd rather not have to use an adaptor.)

If anyone has one to sell (cheap!), please contact me by email - it is listed in my profile. It will go to a good home.

Thanks.

Tracy

Am I correct in saying that ebay has a "watch facility" where you can list it and as soon as one becomes available they will email you

Hi Tracy, I'm in the UK, too. I couldn't afford a Vitamix TNC so I bought a NewGena and it's been EXCELLENT. IT really does the business and is no cheap immitation toy - it's damned powerful and is well made. However, these are currently unavailable: http://www.ethicaljuicers.co.uk/blender_newgena.php

...it just so happens, though, that there is a black one on eBay.co.uk right now. Good luck!

Hi Tracy,

I did not but my VM until I moved here but I'm wondering, have you tried contacting VitaMix directly and asking for help. They have a great help desk and may have some inside tips for locating one on the cheap. Many times I have thought what I would do about all my electric raw "tools" if I moved back!!

Good Luck!

I just looked at the VM site and saw the "international" section at 399 quid -Wow!

I have a coupon I advertised in the classifieds section a few days ago for reconditioned 5000 model at $299. I get these from the company because I bought one.

Send me an email and I will forward this offer to you. Try it and explain you need the UK model and see what happens.

I have a feeling they are flexible. Throw yourself on their mercy and say you just cannot afford that kind of money, and what could be done to reduce the cost!

It NEVER hurts to ask!

Arky - thanks for that info. The NewGena is a much better price but as you say, out of stock for a possible indefinite period. It does promise Vitamix quality blending too which looks good.

I'll check out ebay for the black one - thanks for the tip.

Sport - I'll check out the 'watch' part of ebay, thanks. I didn't know that could be done.

EPPP - I've emailed you.

Thanks to all of you.

Tracy
