Hello folks :) I am a newbie to this kind of thing. I always wanted to
go raw but didn't know how. Tried to grow sprouts a few times and I only got lots of smelly mold. The only recipe I can do that is raw I got from an old girlfried. It is delicious but even something that good you get tired of. My biggest problem is craving sweets and being tired most of the time. I am prediabetic and I have high cholesterol. Let my body go while being a full time nurse to my mom who had cancer. She died last year. Try to exercise but I have injured myself. You know as you get older, when you forget to stretch things happen. Anyway, if any of you could give me some advise on how to grow sprouts without molds I would grreatly appreciate it. Or if you know of some easy and tasty recipes that could encourage me to keep up my raw foods quest, I would appreciate that too ;) Would love to get rid of a lot of extra weight. Anyway the only thing I could share with you nice folks is a raw foods recipe I call my vegetable rotorooter :D , ha! ha! Listed below and I hope you enjoy :)

Take spinach, beets, carrots, and two of your other favorite vegetables(I use burdock root and kale) and finely grate them then combine it with homemade cranberry relish made out of cooked cranberries, walnuts, pineapple juice, diced apples and boiled date water). Once your grated vegetables and cranberry relish are combined add in flax seed oil to moisten and 2 tablespoons of chia seeds or poppy seeds.

Welcome Iamtiny!

One of the first things that I highly recommend is that you purchase Alissa's book because it will help you out a lot. The next thing I recommend is that you use the banana at the top of the page. It is a wonderful search tool you can use to find any recipe imaginable!! This board is not only loaded with recipes it is a whole wealth of information. I spent 5 months lurking and reading before I ever posted. You are definately at the right spot!

Your recipe looks really good. Are you suggesting using cooked cranberries or are you saying they should appear like cooked cranberries. I only asked because this board really doesn't support cooked foods. I am sure that recipe works great without cooking the cranberries.

You wanna loose weight? Eat nothing but raw foods...completely raw! However, try not to make loosing weight your priority. Put your health first, the weight is going to come of anyway.

By all means enjoy and embrace your journey!!! ;)
