I just don't understand people some times. I know it's what they've been taught, but logcially it makes no sense! I read that people are worried about social situations and waht friends/family may say or that people are being negative about their diet and that eating only raw food is "wrong" and "not healthy."

If people REALLY sat down and thought about it...how is eating raw fruits and vegetables not healthy? EVERY living being depends on nature. The animals eat the vegetation on the ground while the birds and insects eat the fruit on the trees. I think EVERY food item in the grocery store requires to have fruits and vegetables of some sort. Now grant it, the good stuff as been completely cooked, destroyed, and processed out of it - not to mention the chemicals, preservatives, and fortified vitamins and minerals added back in, but none the less...it still started as a raw crop. BTW, when I say "raw fruits and vegetables" i mean fruits, greens, veggies, grains, nuts, and seeds.

Is it better to eat that stuff or the crop in its original form?

This is what completely boggles my brain...why are the chemical man made "foods" cheaper then natural whole healthy food? Just mass market to promote obesiety therefore the diet industry thrives and so does the medical industry to help fix the obesity related diseases? It's all a conspiracy I tell ya ;) I'm sure LONG LONG ago they sat down and planned all this out. They all knew what would happen...it's all for money.

Anyway, I would think it would cost more to strip the fields, ship the crop, use the huge ovens, vats, ect. to cook it, not to mention the money it takes to develope and then add the addictive and carcogenic chemicals, the processing machines to grind the life out of the crop, the packing process and materials, and then the second shipping out to stores!?

Isn't it cheaper to just pick the crop, wash it, stick a label on it, and then send it do the grocery store?

Because it lasts forever on the shelves without refrigeration. It doesn't rot in days and have to be thrown away at a loss to the company.

Ha! ha! I hear you.

-Didn't you read Ishmael? The mark of our modern culture / media is that THEY know better. This is crammed down people's throats until the idea that THEY might be the saviors of our world (and not Kellog, Intel or Microsoft) is utterly beyond them.

-How can they lose? If they can convince you that you NEED something....and then sell you that thing.......and then sell you the medicine when their things wreck you.........! Ha! ha!

-The only incentive and motivation for being healthy is love for yourself and others. If you have it...you will DO it! :)

-Hands that help are holier than lips that pray! For sure!

Well said!!!!!! I have wondered all of this as well, especially the cost of fresh produce!! I can spend well over 100 bucks on fruits and veggies at the market and then spend maybe 30-50 bucks on the same amount of food for the week that is processed, etc. I would think it cheaper to pick the veggies and fruit than to add chemicals. Also you have more workers to pay, etc. But I assume it's because so many people buy it and the price can be lowered because of bulk? I buy mostly bulk these days in fresh produce. A bag of Sam's club apples, which is maybe 5-10 pounds can be MUCH cheaper than buying at a grocery store!

Yep, and they buy it because it's cheaper....it's a huge vicious cycle. I occasionally buy at Costco (similar to Sam's), but the only organic they have is baby carrots

Welcome to the insane BS that is the modern day. People take raw, simple, healthy fruits and veggies for granted. They are more expensive because they are actually considered rare. But boxed mac and cheese is a dollar because it is mass produced and probably contains by-products from other industry made junk. Of course it doesn't make sense. The world is unfortunately run by money, greed and selfishness. Major corporations are the rulers of our societies now and they simply don't care about love, health or harmony. Just the 'almighty dollar'. It is total idiocy and it gets us nowhere real fast. People are truly confused in this time. It makes me angry too, but there is nothing to do except keep showing the world how it should be by setting the example. The more people who ask for raw, vegan, organic, fresh foods in stores, the more prices will come down and things will be more widely available. Our ancestors would laugh at us and be confused if they saw how we take our treasures of the Earth and condemn and expolit them instead of using them for perfect health and joy. A change has to occur and it will because from here, we can only go up!
