My DH passed this along to me. Wow, it is so true!

Stressed

As high as 85% of the stress we feel in life is caused by:

INDECISION
or
LACK OF CONTROL

When you are feeling stress
focus your attention on two very specific questions.

What three pressing decisions do I most need to make?
What three areas of my life feel most out of control?

Any decision you can make
or,
area you can get under control
will
bring an immediate reduction in your stress level.

For me it depends on what's causing the stress - me or someone or something. Myself I can usually control, an object I can easliy destroy, and someone else I can always just walk away and take some deep breaths and try again.

Do you mean the swing with yur fist??? :D

Sometimes I find that the thinking about "thinking of being stressed" is what's keeping me stressed b/c STRESSORS are healthy but our reactions is what keeps us in that obsessive unhealthy mode--at least that is how I view it too.

I can relate to the loss of control part. I often feel I have to assert control when things are not in my control. That does cause most of my stress.

With most stressors I can usually just laugh at myself coz it doesn't help my to get all upset and want to destroy it. But dealing with certain types of people make it a little more challenging. And what I do at work is to get them off of me - so to speak and turn them onto themsleves. Most people love to talk about themselves - so I just find what they're hot button is and I control them or the situation, which by doing so releases the pressure of stress which was on me off and turn it into a positive form of energy. :D

My pastor taught me that. I use that at work myself. Before any stress may start, I lay a nice foundationb :D
