i have been a semi-stalker on this board for 2 years now.
i have had major successes & struggles - all the while this
board has been a huge support for me. i feel like i know
everyone here - & i appreciate x10 everyone's bravery &
courage for searching for the truth in their world & for posting
with honesty their experiences. i hit a stumbling block this year -
but with a lot of searching & help from this board - i have
figured out what i needed to stay on track & i am back
100% raw & hap-hap-happy about it! (nothing feels as good).
so, i wanted to say thank you - to all of you & alissa.
remember - we are _all_ doing great - cause we question &
we are here learning & growing... & striving to make our world
(therefore the whole world) a better place.
it doesn't matter what stage you are at (100%, 50%, struggling...)
you are here - you will succeed... you already have!
thank you!

Welcome. Tell us a bit more about yourself. What part of the world do you call home.

aw!!! :o Too sweet. I appreciate this site as well along w/ the discussion that goes on here, & of course Alissa Cohen for providing this support forum!
I'm so glad I found the site(don't even remember what I was looking for at the time)! It's opened me to so much more information into the raw lifestyle, which I could not have found on my own. Well, maybe w/ time I would have, but I'd prefer having learned about them now!!! :p

thanks everyone... i guess i should call myself a lurker...
not stalker (yikes!). the best things i've learned from this board
are:
#1. relax, don't stress about food/health too much - lighten up
- it's the only way to keep it raw. (only way to live).
#2. trust & have patience... i use to read this all the time from
people & think "yeah, yeah - patience, trust, i know, i know.."
but, man i did not know! i had to learn this one (and i'm still
learning).
#3. mostly that everyone struggles, cause it can be really intense.
but, everyone comes back... cause there is no denying a healthful,
wholefood, vegan diet - especially raw (although not nessasarily
100% for all people, all the time).
#4. i can be raw whenever i want & for how ever long i want.
(seems obvious) - but, this concept is freeing to me...
cause i have had 11 mth stints w/ raw & felt after eating cooked
i messed up. i do better staying 100% myself (cravings and all)
but, it's nice to know if i ever do eat cooked - i can just eat raw next
meal & beyond.(fits in with the lighten up & relax theory)
#5. everyone starts to question the diet... this comes in phases...
wondering, tweaking, changing, fasting, experimenting.
i have learned when i start to question - just relax. it usually means i am stressed in my life. cause i have never felt "better" from eating cooked foods - some things (ie steamed veggies) don't make me feel worse - but, not better.
#6. take a photo of yourself pre raw & raw - put it on your fridge, that will say it all.... when you are asking yourself questions, is this healthy? am i getting enough this or that? look at the photo.
#7. "falling off the wagon" is part of being on the wagon... how will know
how much you love raw if you forget how good you feel/look eating this way? it's part of the process - once you fall off... you'll learn if you truely
want to stay raw - cause you'll do nothing but obsess about being raw again!!!(lol!)
