I have run ultra races and have been away at school for 3 years and just coming back - and since then have changed to RAW VEGAN. I would like to know of any ultra runners that are raw vegan. It would be comforting to know. And what they do during ultra races.

I have been a rv for almost a year....broke my leg in January (not related...bad misfortunate accident) and came back quicker than doctors could believe.....I am back to distance running and love it. (and I have a metal plate, screws, and a short rod in my femur!!! :o ) I have never done an ultra (yet :D ) but my "daily" (actually I alternate with cycling) consist of runs from 10-20 miles and I feel better than ever.....I used to have digestive issues before raw which you probably know don't really go over well out in the middle of nowhere  but now I don't. I also feel so much more HYDRATED and don't require as much water out on the roads, etc....
I do eat A LOT of fruit and think that helps with hydration....you should check out our "daily exercise thread" and read from many other raw athletes...
