I just came back from the endocrinologist to check my blood test. My total cholesteral in January was 269. As of last week, it is 179!!! That's 90 points!! My doctor was shocked! My LDL went from 198 to 112. What a difference. My doctor was about to put me on some serious meds and he told me, keep on doing what I'm doing because it's helping big time!

That is great! That probably means it is more diet related. Mine is genetic and has gone down 90 points but still over 200 even when raw :(

Great news about your cholesterol! I talked my wife into trying raw food as a test for my asthma and her cholesterol. She didn't seem to keen on doing it, but she also did not really want to take a pill for the rest of her life for it, and she was really concerned because her dad had a heart attack a few years ago and is physically in excellent shape. (he is a professional athelete.) But it is amazing how yummy green smoothies, and tasty raw-apple pie can convince people that this diet is not just about eating rabbit food. I told her that I would make her raw breakfasts and dinners, but she would be on her own for lunch. (this is when she usually didn't have raw, but still ate pretty healthy.)

After only 45 days of being at least 66% raw, my wife's cholesterol dropped from 285 to 205! We both decide to start our 30 day challenge of being 100% raw yesterday, and she is going to get tested again immediately after.

Mrandal and Biff-wonderful news for both of you (and Mrs. Biff!). I also have a struggle with high cholesterol and diet sure is a key (also genetics one way or another). Congratulations!
