hi lay-lay,

in one of the other threads regarding intestinal worms you mentioned this

"What worked for me was I went on a 1 month parasite cleanse where I ate no sweet fruit accept apples. I took black walnut (liquid that I bought at a health food store) and I added cayenne and garlic and jalepenos to most dishes."

I am curious to know what you ate during that time if you werent eating

sweet fruits. I was talking to my boyfriend about this because I said I

wanted to try it and he said that a raw foods diet already limits so much of

our food choices that cutting out sweet fruits would limit me too much.

Additionally, he said I would probably lose alot of weight during this time and

gain it all back right after I started eating sweet fruits, because it's basically

like a low carb raw food diet. What was your experience like. Did you lose

more weight during this time and then gain some back when you started

eating more sweet fruits. Thanks agian for your help. I've been freaked out

about parasites since I read your post  But freaked out in a good,

concerned, I need to get this taken care of type of way :o

I was not exclusive to raw food at the time. I was on a "healthy diet" I was mid raw. At that time omited breads and pasta, nightshades, and all sweet fruits except APPLES. Apples really helped me get through the cleanse. I also during this period almost NO meat. That was probally the longest I had been without meat since I was 7 or 8 years old. I would think if you did raw all and ate avocados, apples, and other semi sweet fruits anf took some black walnut and ate cayenne and jalepenos, you would really have a great cleanse. But if you just decided to do a lite cleanse I don't see why that wouldn't work too, it would just probally take longer. You could just take black walnut, and eat hot stuff along with your current raw diet. The point in elimating the sweet fruits is to also starve the worms by taking away the things they feed off of. Just like I got a peach off my tree today and it had a worm in it. They like their sweet stuff, LOL. I am soooo sorry if I scared you or anyone. I am maybe not the typical case. I had an ordeal, but I am better now. I think it is important to do a cleanse as you see fit, but I didn't mean to scare anyone with my story.

LayLay,

Thanks for your response. You did scare me to an extent but it wasnt a bad thing. Also, in my Physiology Lab, open heart surgery was performed on a frog and my professor openned the lungs and they were full of parasites. Being front row and viewing that freaked me out even more.

So I started today, I ate 2 apples for breakfast, plus salads for lunch and dinner. I need some more advice though.

1) Does the type of apple matter? red, fuji, macintosh, green

2) what are some semi-sweet fruits?
Basically what fruits should I avoid and which ones do you think are okay to eat?

Melons? Bananas? Grapes? Strawberries? papaya? cherries? Oranges? nectarines? (now I know that peaches are a sweet fruit), Young coconut?

Thanks in advance :)

Hey Lay-lay,

was it you that said that you avoided nightshade plants during your parisite cleanse? Why was that? This info that I was reading was saying it was ok to eat limes, lemons, apples and cranberries durring the parisite cleanse. It also says no firmented foods. This info said nothing about the nightshade plants. Why did you eliminate them?

Thank you so much!

yes I avoided ferminted foods too. I am not sure why I avoided nightshades. That is what the nurse told me to avoid. Yes parasites don't like lemons and limes. Cranberries I am not sure about. Any apple Boz!

semi sweet veggies are cucumbers, squash, zechucchi, bell pepper, etc. etc. (pretty much anything that is not really sweet that has seeds is a semi sweet/non sweet fruit from what I understand.

Melons? Bananas? Grapes? Strawberries? papaya? cherries? Oranges? nectarines? (now I know that peaches are a sweet fruit), Young coconut?

on a parasite cleanse these are all considered sweet except maybe the coconut, I would think maybe that one would be ok.

Hope your cleanse goes great!
