I just created this today and I am in LOVE. I try not tohave too many foods in their unnatural state but this totally satisfied my cravings for hearty comfort foods and come winter this will be had a little more often by me! Note: measurements are approximate.

Ingredients:

-Dehydrated peas --I used the 'Just Peas' brand.(fresh would be ok too but I don't know if it would have the same texture)
-Half a handful of thinly chopped chives/green onions
-Fresh or dried thyme (1/4 of a handful)
-Sea salt to taste
-I medium-large spoonful of raw tahini
-Water

Fill a regular sized soup bowl with the dehydrated peas and cover with enough room temperature water to make a thick, stew/soup consistency (you can keep adding water as you go along). Add the thyme, chives and the desired amount of salt and stir. Let sit for a few minutes until the peas are plump and moist throughout. Sift out the peas and put them in a food processor with the tahini and a little of the water to help move the blades. Process until desired soup-ish consistency is reached. add more of the water that the peas were soaked in to make it more soup-y and there you go. I ate it cold but I'm sure it would taste even better a little wamred up in the dehydrator or something. Just one bowl of this was VERY filling. Enjoy!

The Just veggies and fruits cost about 4-5 bucks a tub. They can be found at Whole Foods or you can get online from www.justtomatoes.com they are amazing and this recipe I will have to try! ^_^

They are more expensive online, I've found. I paid $3.25 for a good sized tub and I got them at my local health food store. I don't have a whole foods close enough for convenience. I can't wait to try thgeir products. I plan on making a corn chowder and a mixed veggie stew as well. I plan on stocking up this winter. I'll of course use my own dehydrator as well but I'll need lots because the fruits and vegies aren't that good in the stores come winter.

Modesto, home of Scott Peterson  , the Gallo winery and the place with the highest number of trees per capita.

wow, it sounds like a beutifal place if there are the most trees per capita. I am moving to San Francisco in a couple months and I'm stoked because I am so not a sounthern californian :)

Oh you're so lucky! San francisco is so full of understanding people that will embrace your ways. I do love the central valley because this is where so much of the fresh fruits and veggies actually come from and when hubby and I build a house, we can have some land to plant on and such, but both places have their ups and downs. Modesto is beautiful but it can be just as ugly sometimes with all the intolerance and ignorance of people that don't embrace alternative lifestyles, as well as the industrialization trying to build on all the farmland. I'm blessed to be here though.
