I really want to make a green smoothie out of oranges and spinach, but I only have a few oranges and can't go to the store until Thursday probably, so I don't want to screw it up and waste my oranges. Does anybody have any good tried and true orange, spinach green smoothie recipes?

Hmmmm
I had a green smoothie yesterday and today with oranges and spinach in it. I actually juiced them first so it wouldnt be pulpy. I also added bananas, but they kind of overpowered the smoothie as they tend to do. Maybe one banana and your oranges? I'm not sure how much green smoothie you want, I added lots of fruit to mine and then couldnt really taste the oj. But I used three very small oranges, so it wasn't that much juice.

My usual recipe includes a variety of extras that can change it up. I start with juicing 2 cups of oj, depending on size, number of oranges will vary. Pour just a little juice in to blend up half a blender full of spinach. (I don't have high-powered blender, so I have to start with the items that need to be blended well before the extra liquid is added.) If the oj isn't very sweet, I add dates, too. Depending on how much banana taste you want compared to how thick you want it, add 1-2 bananas. I like to add the meat of 1 young coconut at this point and then the liquid later. Then when it is all blended well, fill it up with oj and/or coconut water. Sometimes I throw in a TBSP or so of tahini. I love it thinner, making a blender full with the liquid and serving it over ice cubes!! YUM! This is also a thumbs up with my hubby and 3 kids (15 mo to 6 yrs) so I double the recipe and make 2 batches!

Thanks for the ideas but, nananas make me sick, I'm allergic to the natural latex in the skin, so I can only eat them once in a while. And I don't have a juicer so I can't juice the oranges first :(

I peel and put whole oranges in my vitamix, add greens (so your spinach) and then I like to add frozen berries (whatever type you like). Then I taste and sometimes add a bit of sweetener (honey or agave). I sometimes add hemp seeds to this mix. DH and DD like this too.
Enjoy. :)
Edited to add: I usually add water to this as well, as I don't like my smoothies too thick. ;)

I finally had a green smoothie, drinking it now. It looks and smells odd but tastes good. The OJ makes a big difference in taste. Try adding a few strawberries.
