My friend recently completed a 30 day fast, half of the days water and the other half juice. Well she completed her fast with 15 days raw but never intended to stay healthy. She figured her body was clean and now she could dive head first into some cookies. I warned her hat her body would not be able to handle the chemicals and that if she had to have cookies why not make raw ones or at least buy something organic. She didnt listen. She went to the store grabbed the first box of DOUBLE-STUF OREOS she could and ate half of them.

Three hours later she's in bed with nausea, vommitng and a fever. She recovered but still plans on eating junk food but introducing it more slowly *rolls eyes* shes a kick. It's amazing what those additives and chemicals can do to you. I made the mistake my first fast by eating jsut half a cookie and having a slight fever. Its crazy.

I did a Master Cleanse once, and after I got off of it, I craved carbs like I'd never craved them before. Maybe those cravings (and her mismanagement of them ) are what did her in.

Probably. Thoguh I wish she would ahve found a better quality cookie, with no white sugar, preservatives, or additives.

The fear of being sick like that is what's keeping me from giving into my cravings (plus wanting to be totally healthy :D )... I hope your friend feels better soon and thinks twice about eating junk next time. Yuck lol

Harvey Diamond once told me about a man who did a long water fast and broke it with a cheeseburger and he actually died from it. You have to be really careful breaking fasts.

oh whoa! Poor girl! It sounds like eatting unhealthy is an addiction for her. Addictions are hard. Even when a person really really wants to get rid of an addiction b/c they know it's bad for them, it's still hard. :o

What can I say?!! Be a great friend, & keep educating her! :D

Forgive me....this is offtopic. Brianna...do you know how Harvey Diamond is doing? I try to find info on him on the internet and it is difficult. As you probably know he is the longest survivor of agent orange in Viet Nam and credits his healthy diet. Unfortunately, there were problems developing in his extremities. A prince of a fellow. I hope he is ok.

Strange as it is, sometimes people are more comfortable with chronic and acute pains, like old friends, naggy but comfortably familiar.

That's true. im trying to be as supportive as possible. I've been down that road. Im still sturgguling with emotional eating at times. Though, I always crave apples for some weird reason. Looking at gummi bears I go "Wow that looks really good.". Then im scared Ill eat one if there in the house, but then I never do. Its taking baby steps.
