:p I posted this in the wrong spot, sorry.
Has anyone heard that if your body is in a sick state or an overly toxic state weight loss will be put on the back burner.
I read this somewhere, has anyone else read this? I don't know if it's true or not, what do you all think.

I would say yes because that is what I've experienced and it would partially explain why so many cooked people have trouble getting rid of excess weight (other than the obvious things like the fact that they eat cooked/SAD food) but toxicity is all part of why cooked food is so bad.

I just posted in another thread, but yeah. It makes sense to me that the body will heal what it finds most important first.

I would say definitely. A toxic system will definitely slow weight loss because of the hard toxic waste material in the intestines. Sometimes only a cleanse of some sort will expedite the process.

Peace.

I would say definately. My father was talking about a book called Natural Cures "They" Dont want you to know about by Kevin Trudeau. The man doesnt eat raw but he makes sure to have an adequate amount of raw foods. Well my father says how he overly states the fact that toxic systems donot let go of fat well and how he advises you cleanse your body. He talks about cleansing helping your body heal and all sorts. According to my family, the methods of cleansing and then not filling your body with junk works... I think if they keep going down this direction they'll be raw in no time.

I have no medical evidence to provide, but I can share my experience.

I've been high raw for five weeks, and lost 15 pounds in the first three. It was just like everybody describes... I had a few days of heavy detox and then the weight began to just "fall off". Suddenly, though, it stopped. I hadn't changed anything in my diet, so it was surprising but I decided to roll with it.

Out of nowhere, I got a huge crop of pimples and started feeling a little sluggish and spaced out. Nothing like my initial detox in week one, but definitely a milder version of it. And it felt as if my body was simply switching gears, much as you're describing.

I'm starting the So Easy 3-day herbal colon cleanse tomorrow morning, because I've had digestive issues for years and it felt like the right time to give my body a boost. I fully expect the weight loss to continue as a result of the actual cleanse and the subsequently improved state of my digestive tract.

It's so interesting, learning to read my body the way I am. When I went off birth control pills years ago, I connected really deeply to my cycle... and now I'm feeling that way again but on a much broader scale. It's amazing stuff.

:) You all have helped me to better understand detoxing and weight loss.
At first i started losing weight then i had a terrible problem with bloating then i overcame that then the emotional detox happen now i'm experiencing a little lightheadedness and tireness. It's kind of exciting not knowing what my body will go through next but the knowing that the outcome with be good makes it worth it.
Thanks again everyone.

I agree, sometimes your body won't let go of the weight until it heals sufficiently. One may even gain weight before they will lose, until they are healed enough to let go. The metabolism needs to be healed enough.

I have no medical degree either, but this is what's happened to me:

My detox is probably slower because I'm on prescription medications. However I have felt symptoms of detox and am rolling with it. In the last two weeks I've already lost 7 1/2 pounds. My body RARELY drops weight this fast. My skin is clearing and my nails are growing much faster. My need for the prescriptions is lessening, which will increase my detox as I go. I don't know if I'll continue to lose weight at this pace but will keep posting it in my signature.

Because I've been ill (in more ways than one) and have had chronic pain, I called my system toxic. I have had no headaches and only a couple flare-ups of my pain since I've gone raw. It's an absolutely marvelous feeling.

Excess toxins are stored in fat. Your body really doesn't like to get rid of that fat until it has disposed of the toxins.

I took a colonic and the lady told me i had a terrible case of constipation and i've been taking enemas and herbal laxatives ever since.
Now with eating raw the problem is getting better, i seem to go first thing in the morning and through out the day now.
I use to have one movement every 2 days or sometimes 3, things are slowly getting to where they should be.
I know my body has been in a toxic state for years so i can't expect it to become normal overnight, i know it will take time.
