View Full Version : Vision improvement! AWESOME!!!
Hey gang! Another benefit of raw eating. I have worn glasses for 5 yrs. In the beginning just to read and for the last 2 yrs. for everything. I drove out of town this weekend and wore my non-prescription sunglasses the whole trip and I couldn't tell the difference in vision without my glasses. Yesterday I didn't wear them at all or today. Last nite I put them on out of habit when I got on the computer and took them back off because I could see better without them! I found a vision test chart on line and according to it my vision was 20/20! Thank you God for giving us the natural answer to health and healing! I am going to schedule an eye exam just to verify, that will be fun! My eye doc. will be shocked!! :D This is one more inspiration to stay raw! Have a great day all!
Love, Jax :)
That's great news jax!!

WOW! That's an awesome testimony!! I am looking forward to that happening for me too as I wear glasses for nearsightedness. I echo Deb's question...how long have you been raw?

Isn't that great! When I went to the eye doctor after a few months raw, he said my vision had improved, so we adjusted my Rx accordingly.
Rawkinlocs and Deb, Thanks for responding everyone! Today at work, I made compounds, worked on the computer and did math calculations, all with NO glasses!! It's like I never had them! I put them in my purse Monday morning, just in case, and I haven't taken them out. I am blown away!! I can't wait to see what the 2nd month brings! Maybe I will be off the last 2 medications and be truely free of that bondage for good! I'm so happy I could cry!! (I mean with gratitude of course!) :D
Love, Jax

Jax, Congratulations on getting perfect eyesight!!!!! The world looks mighty different without glasses I bet! :p
Jax did you notice a gradual change or did you wake up one morning as realize that you didn't need them? any more latest developments?
luv,
linda :)
came about over a few days time in my third week. I noticed I could walk around the house without my glasses and I wasn't dizzy. I still put them on to read though. After a couple days of this I decided to drive without them because I needed to wear sunglasses for a long drive and My contacts make my vision blurry now. I saw and drove fine without them so Monday morn. I took them to work in my purse and haven't taken them out since. In fact, today I'm putting them in a drawer. I made an appt. with my eye doc. and it isn't until the 17th ( he's only in our town once a week) so I will letcha all know the results of that in 2 weeks. BTW, it's been 30 days raw and I feel awesome!!! I am Woman, hear me roar!!! :D :D

Jax,
I hope you're still out there, because I would really like to know how things turned out. I've worn glasses since I was 7 and contact lenses are not an option. It would be really lovely to up specs...

I know the feeling of better eyesight from following living foods...let's just put it this way: awhile back, I just stopped wearing my glasses to see if I could improve my eyesight by not depending on them so much. Just so you know, around 10 years ago, I had eye surgery on my left eye to fix a retinal detachment and then I had 5 eye surgeries on my right eye to fix the same problem. They had to take the lens out of my right eye because it kept becoing detached. (so, out of my right eye, all I can see are shadows. If it weren't for the scarring tissue, I've been told my eye sight would be near perfect in that eye) And then in my left eye, I was told I was considered legally blind and would never be able to have a driver;s license again. m(the eye dr wouldn't even risk giving me contact lenses when I asked)
Anyway, when I went raw, I did it for health reasons - not realizing the benefits of it for vision improvement. Since going raw, I can now watch the TV - without my glasses - and able to read some of the lettering. I still have to squint a little to read it but not as much as I have been in the past. I can now read licensed plate numbers from more of a distance. I can read books from more of a distance as well, and as I type this, I am sitting further back fromthe computer than I normally do...so eating live foods does pay off for vision improvement as well...I don't even think about wearing my glasses when I go places now...it's really weird but nice not to have to depend on them

Would it be worthwhile to start a vision thread? As a fellow sufferer of nearsightedness, I know how much of a burden glasses and contacts are. Also, has anyone heard of Dr. Bates? He was a eye doctor back in the 1920's who did research that showed that vision problems were caused by the mind, not by physical defects. Interesting stuff. He has a fairly big following now, but the mainstream vision doctors don't know anything about it, or if they do, they deny it's effectiveness.

I was sick in during the first of the year and was in bed for a week - pnumonia - and had nothing but green juices exclusivly and noticed a profound difference in my eyesight too.
I always read to help fall asleep as reading makes my eyes tired. I suddenly realized as I was lying there that I had been reading for HOURS with no break and w/o glasses!!! I had never been able to read for more than 20 min without drifting off. I was stunned!
RAW FOOD IS THE UNIVERSAL HEALER - RAW RAW RAW!! :D

Are you nearsighted or farsighted?

Meteor (Brad),
It seems that I hear a lot of stories of people going raw and being free from their glasses BUT...they are almost always farsighted. My husband was one of them. One day he realized that he no longer needed his glasses and hasn't worn them since...but he only needed them for seeing things upclose and at times would wear them for driving. Now, he doesn't need them at all.
I, like you, am nearsighted and I still depend on my glasses although, I notice that my glasses sometimes bother me. I'm thinking that I may need a weaker prescription but would like to begin doing eye exercises and sometimes I even walk around without my glasses to strengthen my eye muscles.

Ummm, not sure; I really only used my spectacles for reading. I also have a lazy which is what was the main problem. :o
I don't need improvements to my eyesight but I would love to have clear whites in my eyes as I did when I was a child. I hope I experience that!

Improving my eyesight is also one of my goals and I have started an eye exercise program as part of the 21 day challange. Problem is that if my eyesight improves I will not know if it is the exercises or the food.
I have also purchased some of those peephole glasses. You are supposed to use them for closework for 15mins per day. I will start that if the other program does not work.
It would be great if my eyesight improved because it would be an outward manifistation of the healing power of eating raw and just may influence some more of my family. So far I have only managed to convert one of my siblings.

well, maybe I should say, I'm envious! I've been very high (99%) for over a year and just had my glasses streangthened (don't think I spelled that right). I was not happy, seriously thinking about starting drinking wheat grass juice (uck) on a daily basis to see if that helps.
I am excited to hear about other's good news in this area. I am far sighted, maybe that is why I haven't felt any improvement, as Rawkinlocs mentioned. Hm-m-m-m.

Um, think you meant nearsighted. Farsighted is when you can't see close. If any of you nearsighted folks have a prescription of -2.00 or less, you can probably almost completely ditch your glasses. My prescription is -4.00. If I can improve it to -2.00, that's when I think I will never have to wear glasses again. I can drive(illegally) with -4.00, but it's not smart. So, I know I could drive with -2.00. And -2.00 would be acceptable for work. Even if you can't totally ditch your glasses, try to avoid using them as much as possible.
