I bought some raw buckwheat groats and don't know what to do with them. Does anyone have a simple recipe? Maybe a "rice" or a simple cereal?

Thank you!

I tried them as a base for muesli and enjoyed it very much. Almond milk, some coconut, dried fruit and a tad of agave syrup. It soaked up the nut milk and I had to add more. Very chewy though so if you let it sit out it softens. I like the chewy nuttiness though.

I think it would be very nice with miso and warmish water (not too hot as we know) and added asian flavours of your liking. Perhaps ginger, garlic and spice or some mushrooms? I read in your journal that you like miso...great journal!

Good luck with experimenting. I am starting with these groats too as I am gluten intolerant. I can find raw oats easily but the buckwheat is harder to get. Oats are iffy on the gluten front.

Sprouted buckwheat with any of the following:
agave
maple syrup
raisins
dates
apples
cinnamon
nuts
shredded coconut
coconut oil

All processed in a food processor....dehydrate for a yummy granola.

Are you asking how to prepare the buckwheat groats? Just in case, here's how I do it. I soak my buckwheat overnight...drain and rinse and then sprout it for about a day, maybe two, until you see little sprouts (they look like Hershey kisses) and then I dehydrate them until they are crunchy. I love these as cereal with almond mylk, raisins and bananas!!
