Waning moon phase fast?

Anyone done a fast delibrately during the waning phase of the moon? Do you feel it is easier at this time. More in-line? I'm planning to do one from Tuesday the 12th onward (hopefully a week, as long as it takes to achieve my goal really).

I've been wondering why people fast during 'special'/different moon phases? It sounds cool to me, I'd just like to know more about it. Is there any other benefits (besides the ones that come from fasting on any day)?
