Has anyone considered that is would be much better for us to eat the food we are juicing.Juicing cuts out fibre and ups the sugar content( from fruit) alot.Wouldnt it be better to eat an apple than to drink it???
Opinions.....???

I agree that for the most part it is better to eat whole but there are exceptions.
Juicing breaks down the cellulose in the cell wall and makes some of the nutrients more available. I sometimes think that maybe the ideal would be to juice and then add the pulp back in and have it in the form of a smoothie and get the best of both worlds but I have not tried it yet.

Of course its a choice. You can drink the juice from say 5 lbs of greens, but can you eat 5 lbs of greens? Sometimes you just don't fell like all of the prep., so juice and go. We will always get enough fiber. The important thing no matter..........the body is being nourished. Somestimes you feel like a nut, somestimes you don't.........

I would always prefer to juice the heck out of a lot of veggies rather than sit there and make my stomach hurt trying to eat them all LOL

Excellent response! (It made me laugh, too.) :D

I'm more for blending them if not eating them whole. That way the fiber goes into the body where it has such an important job to do!

Most of my raw friends don't rely on juicing much, actually. (By that, I mean that they'll have one to two juices a day). The people I know who juice a lot also eat cooked food. Go figure.

I'm a big Norman Walker fan, so I love juicing and think it's very beneficial. For me it's a great way to get in some of those veggies and greens that are hard to digest and assimilate the bounteous nutrients in them. The water is organic, and nourishing, and it's a great palate cleanser--especially for those just starting out eating whole foods.
I usually just juice once a day though, so it's more like a "drink" than a meal replacement, so I'm not worried about not getting enough fiber or anything.
