Ok I have a problem...if i buy nuts to graze on they take over my diet and that is all i eat  ..if i eat dates i also can not stop and end up overloaded on sugar.I think the answer for me is just fresh fruit and vegies and no more nuts/dried fruit.
Anyone else have this problem?..also it has bought myweightloss to a fast halt!..so thats not good :(

Maybe use avocados as your fat source for a while? and don't buy nuts and dates very often like you said. Maybe once you've been raw for a long time you will do fine eating them.

Yes, especially in the beginning of a raw food diet, many people tend to overeat dried fruits and nuts. I know I did. I'd eat a whole pound of dates with almond butter in one sitting and then want more!

Maybe our bodies need this in the beginning? Victoria Boutenko would often eat like 8 avocados a day and she lost weight...maybe our bodies NEED a lot of this healthy fat to help get rid of toxin filled fat?

It is very hard to go raw and while we are transitioning I think that we should make it as easy as possible on ourselvs.
The biggest danger in limiting your diet is that you will allow yourself to get too hungry and that will weaken your resolve and you will slip.
I am one year raw and it is only now that I am even thinking (and I am still only thinking) about being more selective about what I eat.

wow, I kinda have that problem also, I luv nuts, they are so good, but I need to focus on freash veggies more. jus try to eat them in the morning hours, I heard this is the best time to eat fatty foods, then throughout the rest of the day, you can make salads, raw soups, snake on fresk veggies, etc. ;)

I don't know how long you have been raw, but I have been 100% for a little over a month. I can completely empathize what you are saying in re. to nuts/dried fruit.
It is my opinion that you should just eat what you desire with the goal of aiming for more fresh fruit/veg. After one month, my body is naturally slowing down on the nuts and dates. Though last night at 11 pm. before bed I had a few (yes, just a few) walnuts with a couple dates and it really hit the spot for my ever-pestering sweet tooth. In the beginning, I would have eaten the whole bag of walnuts and 10 dates!!! I would also eat TONS of raw pistachios and I have not even touched one in weeks.
Don't be too alarmed, but just keep more fresh stuff as a subtle goal. Just my 2 cents..

and I just completely stopped buying nuts. I tell you I went really really overboard on nuts. Replaced it with avocados and eating a lot of salad and fresh fruits. It's the perfect time too, since it's the summer and I get great fruit deals around my area. I thought I'd feel deprived but the fresh stuff tastes sooooo much better. Also, I did it for about a week and a half and immediately lost some lbs.
Definitely try to replace with avocados instead, but I occassionally still eat some almonds and pecans for variety.
