OH OH OH you can NOT even imagine how happy I am right now :)

Since begining my Raw journey and landing here with all you great people I have been adding new things to my kitchen and cubboards. OUT WITH THE OLD IN WITH THE NEW! One of my REAL desires has been for a dehyrator. I read about all these yummy things you guys make and I wanna try em ALL!. Unfourtunatly my budget wasn't allowing that kind of purchase so I put that on my wish list for the future.

I made a trip to my local thrift store (which I totally love) and as I walked in to the kitchen department, There gleaming at me on the shelf was the object of my desire!! Brand new, It is round (I can live with that!) 6 trays and I went and grabbed it off the shelf thinking someone was gonna cut in front of me and snatch my prize!! haha

I was not sure what price they were going to ask for it and I had even start talking myself into having to put it back if the price was too high. I was so afraid to look I almost squinted my eyes! The price? A mear $4.98!!
WHOOPIE HALLELUHA **Does mega happy dance**

I took it up to pay for it and the lady asked me what the heck is that thing? I beamed at her :) This is MY new dehyrator *cackles with delight* She said that they priced it low cuz no one even knew what it was!
I told her a few things about Raw eating but she looked at me like I had 6 heads and she seemed more interested in getting me to make beef jerky BLAH!

So there it is :) My First dehydrator. I am sitting here deciding what to make first. Oh and by the way? I just hugged it :D

You are so funny!! But, I can only imagine how thrilled you must have been to find that. You should make Alissa's Carrot Pecan Burgers and the Pesto stuffed mushrooms- Those are my favorite....and then a batch of Pecan pie cookies (Soaked dates and pecans- pure, simple and delicous!!!!)-YUMMY!

Have a RAWsome day!

I also forgot to mention that I sometimes get carried away when making my smoothies!!! Making way too much- And- also, my kids don't finish all of theirs...so, I simply pour it onto a teflex sheet and make it into wonderful fruit leather to have as a snack the next day- Today we are making Pineapple, Banana and Mango- with a little raw hemp powder!!!- Yummy!

I got a dehydrater at my thrift store for $5.00 and a Jack Lalaine juicer for $2.00.
I was overjoyed, it's like CHRISTMAS. Keep going back who knows what else we will find. :D :D

Hey Everyone!

Well I did my first "test" batch of stuff in the new dehydrator!

I started small just to see if it would work. I sliced 2 zucchini and put them in some water with a tiny bit of sea salt then layed them out. CHIPS heheh I was tickled pink! I also took some portabella and stuffed them with a left over pate' and although they came out great, I was too full to eat any. I just can't get over going from a constant consumer of TONS of food to prefering to not eating!

Still haven't come up with a name althought the Heidi name is terrific and under consideration!!

ok. I am soooooooooo jealous! I only went to a thrift store once in my life & bought a stuffed bear ($2.50 maybe?) & a skirt ($4, I thought this was expensive! Am I too frugile? hehe). Guess I need to stop by the thrift stores more. :D You all must be good deal searchers!!! :p

He he he - here's to thrift stores! good for you!

Goodwill is the best place for buying kids' clothes I've discovered. I got tons of short for my kids, they were $1.99 each and I don't feel like I've thrown good money down the drain after they grow out of them shortly. All their clothes are gently worn with high-falutin' labels on them. I just have to get past the moth ball smell at the entrance and I'm good to go.
