avocados

ok so we were blessed with a ton of avocados, but, the question is what to do with them all? my daughter eats about 5 a week. do they freeze? can you make anything with them and freeze it? what do you think? what are your favorite dishes with avos?

I have heard you can freeze them and it works fine. Therefore, you could probably make any dish with avocados and freeze it (like the chocolate cream pie that was posted a while ago!)

I love avocado on flax crackers either plain or guacamole style. Some soups recipes have avocado in them.

For a rich creamy shake I blend an avocado and young coconut. Sweeten to taste.
Or Allisa's lemon pudding...I just bought a bunch of avocados...waiting(fingers tapping on table) for them to rippen enough to eat.
I think guac would freeze well....keep us posted

I agree with LunarFey, a chocolate pie would freeze very well and it does taste divine too.. :p Good luck!

I looked it up on the internet. Apparently you can slice avocado (or blend it) and mix it in lemon juice (so it won't brown) and then freeze it.

I've been making lots of different puddings w/avocados and they freeze really well. I use the recipe from http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13933

and made chocolate pudding (no crust), and substituted the carob with strawberries and made strawberry pudding. I plan to make banana puddings today with banana substitution.

Oops, I need to make a correction. It turns to ice cream if you put it into freezer. If you keep it in the fridge, than it's pudding. :D
