I was just reading Pailani's thread about the bloat finally going away. Is this a common thing? I am not yet 100% raw, I think today will be my first day! just curious. I know we're all different but I wondered if this happens to a lot of people due to the increase in fiber.

Someone else asked about it a couple weeks ago on another thread here and a few people responded and said it was fairly common and it had happened to them, too. So I think it does happen to some people - although at least one person said that they had always been bloated until they switched to a raw diet, and then it went away! So I guess everybody reacts according to whatever pre-existing health complexities they already had.

Before i started taking enzymes when i would eat cabbage, broccoli and other tough veggies my stomach would swell up and i hated it but now i don't have that problem anymore.
I think quite a few people have suffered with bloating.

My bloating went away with raw, with the exception of TOM, but then that just wrecks havoc with any sembalnce of digestive normalacy for me *lol*

My poor mom had wanted to go raw after I shared the health benefits with her. Well, bless her heart, she was in so much pain all of the time!!! I couldn't figure out what was going on. She had even bought a copy of Alissa's book. Finally I asked her about her food combining. I guess she skipped that section in the book. Anyway, she had immediate relief after she practiced proper food combining.
SO maybe to all of those folks out there who are having some bloating issues, try proper food combining and see if that helps out.

don't worry about it, everyone is different in how they respond to the shifts with raw

Proper food combining? I've had problems w/ bloating, too...esp. w/ TOM! I'll try to see if the food combining is the case. Thanks for the insight. :o
Thanks for this thread!! :D

I feel like I get more of a bloat whenever I eat too many fats. Mostly avocados. I dont know why that is.
I wanted to ask about this the other day, but hadnt gotten a chance.
However, I like the fats in my diet. I feel good after eating them.
I was trying to cut down on my fats a while back, but everything has some sort of fat in the recipe. And I didnt think that I felt that great on such a small amount of fats.
Thanks again

I did try the food combining, & it seems to be working w/ the bloating. woohoo! :D
Not sure if it could be nuts either. Since being on vacation away from the city, I haven't ate ANY nuts whatsoever. Before when I was bloating, I ate a lot of peanuts & raisins together. They were my snacks.
So I'm not sure if it could have been the food combining, the nuts, or maybe city stress life for me.
