Ok this is so good, I just had to share. My mom cut up a bunch of onions yesterday morning, and put them in the dehydrater, so we could use them in soups and stuff (were not raw), since we have a million of them lol. Well she opened the dehydrater and was going to seal them in a jar, and I picked one up and tired it (and I don't really like onions), it was absolutely delicious! It was kinda sweet and salty and flaky and chrunchy and really really good, mom says it reminds her of fried onion rings? All I know is they are really really good, I'm going to cut some more onions up, but bigger this time (these were diced) and add a little salt and pepper to them, and dehydrate them for a while, and make onion chips I think :)

What kind of onions? What thickness for the slices? How long did it take? I'm interested!

Umm, I'm not sure what kind they were, just plain white one's from my mom's garden. They were in pretty thin slices, around the size of 2 envelopes, stacked. And they were in the dehydrator for 24 hours (though some of them were kinda hard and chrunchy like they were burned because they were really small.)

I have Sproutman's Kitchen Garden Cookbook (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1878736868/104-0320252-0223922?v=glance&n=283155), and that's one of the recipes in there. I'm going to try it; I just hope I haven't spoiled my tastebuds by having the "fried" onion rings (http://rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?p=152605#post152605) first.
