I use a salsa
tomatoe
onion
garlic
cilantro
cayenne
or avocado
tomato
onion
garlic
lemon juice
or
any nuts (coconut or tahini or seed)
onion
cayenne
spices
lemon juice
or
any nut butter
water
any spices you like
garlic
onion
pretty much any thing with garlic and onion tastes good to me
some people just blend up veggies, like zucchini and tomato and avocado
it's what ever you like

thanks Rawpriestess. I decided to make the zucchini hummus...I am sort of nervous as I have never made it before....PLUS I am using soaked sesame seeds instead of tahini. Also, I don't know what herbs to use, I am horrible with this. IF everyone hates it no one will ever want to try another of my things and will turn their noses up to raw even more. I am probably also making alissa's spinach dip.
wish me luck, and any ideas on herbs? I don't have much...I have sweet basil, watercress, cayenne (probably not raw but no other indredients added), a tiny bit of dill, and thats probably it although my grandma is growing some wonderful healthy parsley and I could probably ask her to bring some

I'm doing a veggie platter and now I might do raw salsa as a choice of dips. If the zucchini hummus isn't working by now I would nix it and stop stressing. Try a simple guac and a simple salsa!
therawtable.com has a great creamy cucumber dip listed in their recipes. Its great as a dressing for burgers, etc and great for dipping veggies.

thanks :)
I ended up keeping the zucchini hummus and some people actually seemed to like it (not I!) but I also made Alissa's spinach dip (but had to sub some squeezed orange for lemon) and it was good. My grandmother loved it. Of course, my step dad had to bring out some meat and cheese dip with chips so my little sister didn't eat any veggies or any of the healthy dips. ah well. More people ate the veggies and my dips ;) :)

Alissa's spinach dip seems to always be a winner.

yeah it was great :). My grandma really loved it, she said it had a very good, earthy flavor. I had to use some squeezed orange instead of lemon and it worked :)

I like to thin the spinach dip with lemon juice and water, add some vinegar and use it as a dressing for salads ;) Goes really well with cuke!
